well.. very few guys have replied to this thread so far.
I think this is a very sensitive issue, and as some of us men may (rather uknowingly) claim that we can do it, many would walk out when faced with the actual situation. Most of those left, would not be able to do justice with the commitment, responsibility, compassion, respect and understanding that such relationships demand. The social and familial pressures would further complicate the issues. Knowing all that, I will do it only if I love/like the girl. I may never be able to stay committed to it just for the sake compassion itself. That's just as honest as I can be.

If I had never come out of Pakistan then I would probably be narrow minded and had not wanted to marry a raped woman. But today, I have outgrown that narow mindedness so would not see any issue marrying a raped woman or for that matter even a woman who previously had been into a sexual relationship.
PS. That would have been the case if I was still single but I am already married.

Mmmm, I don't think if the woman got raped and pregnant she would keep the baby, I mean does she really want a reminder of how her life got scarred forever? Not being mean, but this is my opinion. Everyday she would have to get up and see the little baby, her baby...and then the man who forced her to have sex's baby. And then when the kid wants answers about its father? Then? You can't lie to your child forever!
And if I was a man, and the woman did decide to keep the baby, which is ofcourse her own choice....I'd support her and treat the kid as if it was mine.

the thing with a woman whose been raped or abused/been in an abusive relationship and hasn't gotten proper help, she will have of emotional baggage that some men are just not ready to handle. So a rape/abuse survivor is different than a girl who had sex with a boyfriend, it's not just about she's already been touched. SO i can imagne the issues the guy would have about her mental health and well being.
Well said. And to all those who are making tall claims that they wont have an issue with marrying a raped women are not being honest people at all. I can understand that they will marry but if you think you can say its same as marrying a normal girl than thats different. BUt ofcourse its no way the girl's fault but the poor soul always will have to suffer for something she never did willingly yet it will haunt her all her life :(.

I think you should change the question to…would you still want to stay married to your Wife if someone Raped her and still raise the child?
Islam does not allow us to punish the child for its Parents Crime…
so child concieved in a situation of rape did NO Crime…hence it has a right to live!
Even if ones wife were to engage in adultry and gets pregnant…the child is still considered part of the Family…the husband has to raise it as his own!..:desimunda:

Just read a post in AV and this thought came to my mind..what happens to the raped women in our desi society? Are they accepted easily as they are not at fault at all.. Do men accept them in marriage?
If you are a guy reading this, would you marry a raped girl? What concerns you might have?
P.S: If this woman were to be pregnant would you have different concerns?
P.S2: I don't wish to sound cruel but why isn't that child dropped or is it?
I'll marry her if i had the intentions of marrying her b4 the incident.
What happens in desi societies: usually the family moves to other city, changes name etc, and then marry off the girl to someone who doesn't know anything.

:)...Yes that is the Sharia Law.........Check on Islamicity......ask any Alim....there was a case where married women was fooling around and got pregnant by some othe than her husband....the husband got Divorce from his adulterous wife..........BUT the Judge said Husband is responsible for paying for raising the child......it happened in Kuwait!
