Yes it is becoming fashion in guys to call their female friends dear. But it irritates me when i don’t like a guy or don’t consider him my very good friend 
. other than that if i have a good friendship with him it ok 
I have never seen two guys holding hands although i have spent my whole life in Pakistan.
