Yes … it is not considered ‘correct’ etiquette for the girls side to ask for the rishta.
The reason for this is quite clear but people are not looking at this … It is to maximise the honour of the girl and to reduce the chances of her being rejected. When the man goes out to ask for the rishta then the girls side can accept or reject. But if the girls side goes out then if she gets rejected then it will affect her more seeing that a woman is more closer to her emotions than a man would be. So you see she gets to maintain her honour.
Rather if the girls side wants the rishta … they should say to the boy’s family that “we are now looking for a rishta for the girl” and if the boy’s side are interested they will take the opportunity first.
Uh huh. I wish it was like that. The Guy’s family comes over to chk the girl and things proceed only when the GUY’S family gives a goahead. Ofcourse the girl’s family can choose to still go ahead or not.
