I was just wondering, when a family checks out a guy for arranged marriage what jobs do they prefer?

I was talking to my dadi the other day and she said it goes something like this

  1. Doctor
  2. Engineer
  3. MBA
  4. Accountant
  5. Businessman

…

  1. Lawyer

Anyway, just wondering. Why would businessman be lower than Accounting… surely Businessmen are the richest?

Because every other Raj and Babu in the world is in some sort of garment or internet business. That includes the guy running the neighbourhood Paan & Movie Rental shop.

A bit of advice: If someone's profession says "Businessman", don't expect too much.

P.S. Lawyer 99? Oh common! It's better than a stinking MBA.

Well I don't think back home lawyers get much respect. If they are a well known lawyer, then maybe, but an average lawyer or someone new to the field is not really considered very prestigious. Not saying people diss on them, but not exactly the kind of treatment doctors get either.

but who cares if the guy has a steady job n haz money 2 support em...if he has enuff money 2 keep em happy thn that shud b gud enuff

on the subject of businessmen... so if a businessman is running a successful company than he should be able to jump to the top of the pile?

2 - How is the family

3 - What kind of Job does he do

4 - Is he Sharif and Religious

5 - Age

6 - Is he good looking

How would you feel if someone wrote something with negative conatation about ur marhoom grandmother; as I recall you were very close with her.

oh dear! i wouldnt mind at all. his daadi said that accountants are better than businessmen so he should honor that statement from her. if anything its out of respect for her rather than disrespect. samjhay babu? :)
