...Guys & Housework...

This question pertains to the dudes of gupshup, but non-dudes, feel free to answer and let us know what your brother/fathers/husbands do to help you around in the house.

Question: When it comes to making things easier for the ladies, what do the males do to help? I’ll give you a couple of examples in my answer.

Answer: When mom/mrs. cook food and it’s ready, I go get it myself and bring it to wherever I am going to eat it. When I am done, I put my pans in the kitchen sink. I do this even when I am at anyone’s house. I take the trash out, I vacuume, wipe the bathroom sink after I wash my hands/face, when I change clothes, I hang them in the closet instead of throwing them on the bed. There are a few other minor things that I do help around but I can’t recall at the moment.

What do you do, if you are a male, or what do the males of your house do if you are a female?

Re: …Guys & Housework…

my brother throws out the rubbish and does the dished at times.

oh, and we forced him to do poocha back in pakistan, he does it so fast :cb:

Re: …Guys & Housework…

It’s not funny :grumpy:

But I think guys should help out whatever they can. My uncles (mamoo) are spoiled. They are in Pakistan and when I went there to visit them, we (youngest mamoo and I - he’s about 3 years older than me) were having lunch. Mumani (oldest mamoo’s wife) tried to serve us. While I went to her and got it for me, she brought him his lunch. Instead of collecting the bones in a dish and then dumping them in the trash can, he was just throwing them on the ground. I got up and brought a dish to put the bones in. He suggested that I should be relaxed and just throw them on the floor, the ladies will clean it up :smack: After I was done, I took my dishes to the washing area while he left his where we were eating.

My mumaani felt embarrassed because the “guest” was working while the host was not but I was like it’s okay, I do this on everyday basis, so relax :hehe:

Re: …Guys & Housework…

my bro and dad do a lot around the house. bro has to be prodded and reminded a bit, but he does the brooming and moping and vacuuming. (brooming not so well :vivo:) dad does that stuff too, and maybe the dishes sometimes. ofcourse there is the shoveling and the garbage taking out that they do as well. so yeah the guys in my house do a lot. :chai:

shikra you make no sense :mudhosh:

Re: ...Guys & Housework...

so, Desi ignorant guys in pakistan dont belive in equal rights for women WHICH leads to women doing all the housework.

Re: …Guys & Housework…

it’s more along the lines of the environment you’re raised in. what’s the norm. but at the same time, who’s to define the norm?

you waster water? don’t you know we don’t have much water that is drinkable left on the earth

:vivo:

Re: ...Guys & Housework...

yes khumar we do, but its not purified.

Re: ...Guys & Housework...

He is not getting any younger anyway so he forgets , don't get mad, just cut the guy some slack.
In USA where he is - guys have to work around the house , in the yard , in the garage nothing out of ordinary.
It is Pakistan where male are spoiled . If they are khatay peetay then they have some nokars or masies.
If they are not khatay peetay then they come back from work so tired and so late that they cannot help out but eat dinner and crash.

Re: ...Guys & Housework...

well that wastes energy and resources to purify it. which is precious in itself. but pure, drinkable water is slowly being polluted or wasted. and many people around the world don't even have access to it.
