As a guy, what are the things you look for in a potential rishta? Do you listen to what your parents want, or more of what you think (obviously you want someone that will get along with the family, but how much would you fight for someone you’d like if you had to?)
As a girl, what are your pre-conceived notions of what guys look for in a rishta? And how much pressure from your parents would you get to act a certain way in front of a potential rishta which they liked?
My mom says not to talk alot in front of rishta families since they might not like very talkative bahu, not to be very friendly and humourous since they might like sharmili larki, to reply to their questions in a way which they might like (as in when asked what do you in your free time, reply I cook etc).
I guess the criteria set by guy's family and criteria set by a guy for a girl is different. Guys usually look for understanding. Guys families look for chand si bahu, well-to-do family etc and might ignore the preferences of their sons.

next time, you may act little bit open and less sharmying.
Girl here- so I'm gonna talk about my pre conceived notions and what actually happened during my rishta process.
So I think what guy's families generally want is someone who'd fit into their family well, and guys have a big say in it usually- however they might get influenced by whoever they're close to and go with their opinion as well- usually sisters i think. Some families do go for really pretty girls, or really educated ones, or whatever but that's family dependent. People have told my mom- larki chahay perhi likhi na hoo but ho buhattt khoubsurat. True story. And this is in a VERY educated circle in NY. So that happens as well, but only when family is looking- not the guy himself.
In my case, I had NO idea how to act but I was told by him that it's just a meeting between families and he's already set on what he wants and all. So don't know what happened there.
You were surrounded by those harlots and making them sammiches. I will have you know I am a jealous man and can not tolerate sammiches being made for these people
My mommy told me to put on more mascara. And I was like, no mommy I dont want to. But she insisted, so I had to. But then later she told me, you know you shouldn’t have put on so much mascara. And I was like, whaaaa???
