my dad told me to speak in urdu and when I didn't , I got yelled at after because they probably though I was wayyy to "americanized" (whatevs)
Other than that, my parents don't make me do anything. My mom has a strict "no tea trolley" rule so SHE brings out the chai or my sister does but I don't (I refused to do it the first time because it was so awk and my mom would rather that I just talk with the guy/family and get to know them/they get to know me rather than be in the kitchen fixing up food and whatnot)
