Yes, but only his followers, not the followers of Sikhism today. there is a big difference.
Later gurus of Sikhism were in fight for their survival against a tyrant and a mad man known as Aurangzeb who’s noble services to Islam also included slaughter of Shias and eunuch. He persecuted the Hindus, destroying their temples and monuments, and gouged out his own father Shah Jahan’s eyes and tried to eliminat Baba Nanak’s followers.(well this is what happens when a mullah is incharge)
This is when these gurus parted ways from Baba Nanak’s teachings. Sikhism under these gurus adopted a clearly anti-Islamic fervour.
Muslims only eat Halal meat and animals not slaughtered in Islamic way is called “Jhatka”. Sikhs were ordered to eat only Jhatka.
5ks, Kachh (Special designed undergarment), Kara (iron bangle), Kirpaan (strapped sword), Kangha (wooden comb) & Kesh (uncut hair) were introduced by these gurus, in contrast to five pillars (pilgramage, prayer, fast, charity(zakat), Shahadah) and 5 daily prayers in Islam. Turban did not come around untill the time of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th guru.
In short, Sikhism as we see it today is not what Baba Nanak preached. There have been a lot of alterations by much lesser men.
