Amana, I truly admire your attitude to life and your resilience against the the barrel-loads of ignorant desis you seem to have had the misfortune of encountering.
It makes me ashamed, when I hear of such appalling behaviour by desis against other people simply because they are a different race/creed/colour
Desis are so quick to point the finger when they are the victims of racism...all the hoo-haa that goes on when a desi feels harshly done by is common now.
It is merely accepted that racism is present and possible against brown skin. How many desis realise that racism is also possible against white skin and that they are themselves the perpetrators??
Gosh, it really makes me wonder what kind of a world we live in! For goodness sake we are all human (or near enough in some cases) and we are all different. No one individual is the same as another even within the same culture/race! Pakis are at each others throats...sunni vs shia vs ahmeddis vs the rest of the world

Yes all goris arent the same...but its a sexually liberated culture...and if these are general norms and values then people will fall into it...its not a bad thing in white culture so they dont need to be defended...its like a Muslim defending being chaste...its an opinion which is formed by culture...Its just desis like to call these girls hos unneccesarily...just like goreh think Muslim practices are strange...

Amana ppl r very ignorant. My hubby (white convert) had to go through a lot of crap from asian ppl so i totally get what ur saying. U know ur not doing anything wrong and u know what u believe in. I know its fustrating but ppl r never going to change. My hubby actually says its gonna take many generations b4 this type of typical mentality will start to slowly disappear.

Do you live in the UK, by chance? I noticed that when we lived there it was mostly working class girls getting married to cab drivers and such. Most of the biracial families we know here in the US and Canada have at least some college. In fact, that's how most of us met our husbands. There is also a foreign wives club in Isb, and the situation is very similar there. I think altogether over the course of our marriage we have known at least a hundred south-asian/white couples who were muslim. Most were Pakistani, although the girls married to Indian muslims have had similar issues wtih being accepted.

I also wanted to point out that my parents were no more thrilled when my husband proposed than my husband's parents, although they didn't threaten to have a heart attack or call and tell us that they took painkillers. My husband asked for my dad's permission, which is something that he always expected, but my parent's were devastated that I didn't have the big church wedding they always dreamed of, and my dad didn't walk me down the aisle. He didn't even act as my wali because the imam wouldn't allow it. However, unlike my husband's family, mine has gone out of their way to accept my husband and treat him like another son.

Yeh i do live in the UK...so maybe there is a difference...asian boys arent first choice for anyone lol...so edcuated white girls tend to get with white boys...and working class tend to get with either their own or with black or mixed boys predominantly...im in London so it might be different up north...
Btw just a point of reference...if an asian boys has slept around a lot of you assume the girls must have been white...asians tend to get some from asians...pakis like their sikhs in particular...

Why is the rate of AIDS infections rampant in Pak (although its kept on the quiet) while the rate of AIDS in the "GORI" (white) population has remained the same (pretty low as compared to other races).....

Someone who is sexually active in the 3rd world is quite a scary thought cos you assume shes carrying something cos especially amongst the poor population i doubt condoms are the norm...also patriarchal natures of the 3rd world kind of dictate that a man shouldnt bother with a condom....
You would back yourself a a lot more not to catch something in the west than you would in the 3rd world...

ok so in the west, the white goris use condoms and therefore get easily treatable diseases like chlamydia while those in Pak unfortunately get AIDS which is incurable and ultimately fatal....

Obviously sex is soemthing in every culture...however as for percentages id say the UK obviously cos the culture promotes it...its a deviance back home...if your an 18 year old virgin here then its like what the **** and if your an 18 year old thats slept around in pak then you get the same reaction...
Two different cultures have different attitudes towards sex...doesnt mean it doesnt happen...the point is that it is part of white culture to have relationships of which sex is a part whilst in Pakistan it isnt culturally acceptable to have sexual relationships...

I don’t know what type of people you hung out with. None of my white friends in the UK ever had that type of reaction when I lived there (and I lived there till I was 23) and they all knew that I’m a virgin.

Well i suppose it deopends how exposed they are to different cuultures...a white girl in east london a bengali area is more likely to have an understanding of Muslims norms and customs...go down the road to Romford a heavily white populated area then the goreh are less likely to have an understanding of Muslim norms and customs...

In the west, condom use is totally acceptable and expected. Even married couples will use condoms. In Pakistan, it's considered an affront to the man's masculinity if he's asked to use a condom. There's also a big lack of awareness and education in that part of the world. Many people there think of it as a disease of homosexuals only. Ask any prostitute in Pakistan, and she will confidently tell you "Of course I'm clean. Only gay men get AIDS."
The biggest factor of why people are getting AIDS in Pakistan is rampant intravenous drug use amongst the poor, followed by men who engage in homosexual behavior, then by men who visit prostitutes. All these men then go and infect their innocent wives, and subsequently, their children. Hardly any average woman in Pakistan gets AIDS from sleeping around because hardly woman sleeps around. 99% of the time, she gets it from her cheating husband. Also, another big factor is unhygienic medical practices, where needles are reused and blood isn't checked for transfusions. Even with all this, Pakistan's AIDS rate is still considered low by the UN. The biggest threat are the drug users and homosexual men.
So please try again before you try to malign Pakistani women. They aren't getting diseases because they sleep around.
