GupShup Forums

Do you think GS truly represents the nation of Pakistan?

I mean most of us on this forum (at least from what I’ve observed in the past 2 years) reside outside of Pakistan. Many of us are born and bred outside of Pakistan. Do our posts, our thought processes, our views reflect those of the people of Pakistan?

Re: GupShup Forums

Or do you think we don’t represent any particular group - not Pakistanis, not desis, not muslims - just our own individual selves? :hmmm:

Re: GupShup Forums

Do not mix the two , those who were born and raised in Pakistan but reside abroad have very different mindset than the ones who were born and raised abroad.

Re: GupShup Forums

I think we represent Pakistan quite well .. we represent Pakistan so much so that in 1997-98, the url of paklinks used to be WWW.TOPP.COM  .

TOPP being The Official Pakistan Page :hehe:

I had a big fight with Muzna on that, the very first day I registered. I asked how how dare you call yourself the official Pakistan page ..

Re: GupShup Forums

I think we represent overseas Pakistanis more than the ones in Pak.

Re: GupShup Forums

Would you say someone who came to the US or the UK at the age of 10 or less has a different mentality than those who are born and raised in the UK/US? I think it hugely depends on what kind of neighborhood you grew up in and how traditional/conservative your parents are. I do agree though people who came here in their late teen years are still very much in touch with their roots and culture.

Re: GupShup Forums

Dont try to reach too much into GS. This is very small sample.

Re: GupShup Forums

at least it wasn’t TIPTOP.com

Re: GupShup Forums

lagta TOPP is defunct now… Pakistan has no official Page?

Re: GupShup Forums

hahhaaa.......blast from the past TLK.
I seem to have forgotten most of the fights we have had over the years.......but in retrospect.....don't we still deserve that title?
Admit it na......we are TOPP.

Re: GupShup Forums

hey it was a very thoughtful title, I must say

It truly reflect Pakistan, half Indian, half Canadian

Re: GupShup Forums

No, GS does not represent the 170million+ people in Pakistan. I would say it represents a very small class of Pakistanis living outside of their homeland.

Re: GupShup Forums

Re: GupShup Forums

Hell NO!

Re: GupShup Forums

I may speak for Pakistan not from Pakistan, my nick reflects my resilience and adaptability and by no means contradicts to what I said as reply
