I want someone to cover ONE EVENT in the evening, which is the actual wedding.
How much will they charge? Reasonable is anything under 1000 dollars.
There are a good few that might, you can ask them and see what they say. Talha Siddiqui, Aamer Kapadia, OS Photography, Yaadein. Check out their work, some of them may be on facebook... I'm not sure what style you are going for.
Would you be ok with just getting the images digitally and then printing them yourself or designing your own albums? If so, you might be able to get an even better rate.

There is a really sweet girl by the name of Saamah Jadoon. I remember she did my nikaah photos 2 years ago plus the album and it was under $1000. Here is her FB link:

thks a squared, i was considering jyoti decor too but didnt pursue it after seeing their website. may be i will call to see if the price is reasonable. i’ve met a couple people already and liked Amna from lemon truffle designs (Facebook) the most so far, but i want to visit the naseeb show on apr-10 befoe i “pull the trigger”! i also met a new lady shumayl who said she could do the stage and centerpieces + head table for under $1000. she said she’s getting her website created but showed me pictures of her work and it looked pretty good, not at all tacky. I will wait to see if i meet anyone promising at the naseeb show and then make a decision.

Ali K is another good one in the GTA area. He quoted me $3,000 for all three events. You have to pay additional for an album though..

her website just says something about home staging and only has pics from two events- they're nice but not spectacular... is there a different site or folio page? i wanna see too!

Try Baz Kanda of 5 Rivers studio or Taha ghaznavi of Projected Life photography ..MA they both are EXCELLENT.

Hi hope555..i’m sorrry for not replying earlier but last week was soo busy!! anyway, i can’t find shumayl’s number but will pm you her email address. Ive decided to go with amna she was reallyy personable and i wanted someone that would include me in the design as well- its my wedding after all!! 
she quoted me approx. $1200 for stage and fifteen centerpieces (basic, i didnt want over the top anywy..). i’ll dig up shumayl’s contact details and send it to you.
groovychk: i think amna has picture son her website and facebook page too..but i think they might be the same. i’ll post my pictures too aftr the wedding, soo excited but also nervous!! anyway, its http://www.facebook.com/lemontruffledesigns.
