Did you guys make a recipe book? It gets tedious to go through thread after thread and post after post to find a good recipe. Is there a central place where all this stuff is extracted and posted?

I have saved many recipes of various chefs in word document. (recipes taken from orkut) if you want i'll be glad to email it to you.

It doesn't have much. Not even half the recipes that people have posted in their threads. Maybe you guys should team up and go through past threads to get recipes to be added to recipe portal. I've saved some. I can help I guess and I am sure others have too. That thing is lacking recipes majorly! I don't even bother going there. I type what i am looking for in the search box and see threads related to that.
Oh and on top of that... I highly recommend that you guys should make a sub topic-category idk whatever you guys call it, for recipe portal .. under household affairs and cuisine corner.

are the recipes in the portal the tried and tested recipes from GS users or are they just random recipes from the web?

Yes please do, i spent half the day yesterday looking for a recipe that someone had posted on lamb chops, but could'nt find it!!!
random for now. its part of the main portal which is near complete. the hope is to collect ideas from GS and present them in an easy to find layout. Members will be able to directly contribute quality content. We have paid Editors who will search for content across GS and partner websites.
Recipes is just one of many sections in the vast portal.
And if you need help putting something like that together, I can help for sure.
submit a few in the Recipe section. There is a tutorial in the Tips section on how to.
