i'm a girl with curves, i'm pretty top heavy so i was hesitant about this stye thinking it would make me look too top heavy but it hasn't.
I got one in a plaid material that had a slim fit and it looked nice. I recently bought a black one with a corset like high waisted top from expressfashion.com and can't wait for it.
It really slims the waist, kinda like how a belted top or belted dress does. the plaid skirt i bought also came with a belt so that probably achieved that slim look more so than one without a belt.
I have pics somewhere, i've been late to uploading stuff ...
oh and mermaid are you making a skirt to the floor that is high waisted? if so i've never seen that in person and so i'm hesitant but one of the pictures on express's website had a girl like that but she was super tall and thin and wore it like an evening gown with a same colored top and a giant wrap on top to balance the flare on the bottom.
i don't think that would be a good idea. once some time ago i bought a jean skirt with a flare to the bottom thinking it looked cool, well let me tell you i never wore that thing bc it just was no flattering. then again mine came above the knee so who knows about floor length.
With your body shape if you pair it up with a pussybow (ugh hate that word) blouse it would look very nice.
You should emphasize the top part of your body waist up to maintain the balance.
Pencil skirts are mainly for hour glass figures and if you wear one then maybe it wont create the balance between your upper and lower body, maybe instead of a pencil try a A Line skirt??
Having said that if you are confident in yourself than im sure you can play with tops and crerate the perfect look :)
the pencil skirts look best with these tops. and it all depends on how well you pull it off. with my curvy firgure too, i can’t manage to look good in them. specially if they’re high-waisted.
Oooh, pencil skirts are so chic! I think they look great on most shapes and really enhance your shape by making your waist teeny tiny.
There is no need to get one tailor made. Almost every retail outlet, upscale and affordable lines, will offer a pencil skirt. I would try some on first before investing in a tailor made piece!
i know i can buy it but i hate it when i spend money on sumthing and it doesn fit really well and i always have to get it altered afterwards
and for curvy shape its really hard to find one that really fits i always have problem with skirts that it always end up loose at the waist like i have 1 or 2 inches hanging from the waist while it fits at every other place and it looks like im wearing a potato sack
