GS fashionistas!!

gather around and tell me

i need ur opinion about pencil skirts

i think i have grown up now :@: and my wardrobe need sum lady like pieces too :@:

im crazy about pencil skirts i was thinking about getting one tailored for myself

i really want to have one high waisted pencil skirt but im having a feeling that it might not flatter my figure :bummer:

i have pear shaped figure and im curvy. im concerned that high waist might not be the best cut for curvy figure:bummer:

what do u guys say? :hmmm:

shud i go for high waisted or the normal pencil skirt?

and one more thing i was thinking about making it lil marmaid shaped to balance the curves

so any suggestions? high waisted or simple or simple with mermaidy hem?

:hmmm:

i'm a girl with curves, i'm pretty top heavy so i was hesitant about this stye thinking it would make me look too top heavy but it hasn't.

I got one in a plaid material that had a slim fit and it looked nice. I recently bought a black one with a corset like high waisted top from expressfashion.com and can't wait for it.

It really slims the waist, kinda like how a belted top or belted dress does. the plaid skirt i bought also came with a belt so that probably achieved that slim look more so than one without a belt.

I have pics somewhere, i've been late to uploading stuff ...

oh and mermaid are you making a skirt to the floor that is high waisted? if so i've never seen that in person and so i'm hesitant but one of the pictures on express's website had a girl like that but she was super tall and thin and wore it like an evening gown with a same colored top and a giant wrap on top to balance the flare on the bottom.

i don't think that would be a good idea. once some time ago i bought a jean skirt with a flare to the bottom thinking it looked cool, well let me tell you i never wore that thing bc it just was no flattering. then again mine came above the knee so who knows about floor length.

Re: GS fashionistas!!

no not floor length :cb: obviously knee length

Re: GS fashionistas!!

With your body shape if you pair it up with a pussybow (ugh hate that word) blouse it would look very nice.

You should emphasize the top part of your body waist up to maintain the balance.

Pencil skirts are mainly for hour glass figures and if you wear one then maybe it wont create the balance between your upper and lower body, maybe instead of a pencil try a A Line skirt??

Having said that if you are confident in yourself than im sure you can play with tops and crerate the perfect look :)

Re: GS fashionistas!!

What on earth is a pussybow blouse?! :hayaa:

Never ever heard of such a thing

^^i believe this is what she’s talking about:

the pencil skirts look best with these tops. and it all depends on how well you pull it off. with my curvy firgure too, i can’t manage to look good in them. specially if they’re high-waisted.

Re: GS fashionistas!!

lol Riya, i hate the name of the blouse but they look hot hot hot.

What Inita posted, the top one is more like it, lots of frills and a big bow creates volume on the top which evens out the pearness at the bottom

Re: GS fashionistas!!

Is that what they are called?!

Chiii

I thought they were called 'bow shirts' heheh

I guess I shouldnt mentioned how many I have....

Re: GS fashionistas!!

:cb: yes thats what they are called and I would love to own one but I hate the name hence I dont own one :frowning:

Oooh, pencil skirts are so chic! I think they look great on most shapes and really enhance your shape by making your waist teeny tiny.

There is no need to get one tailor made. Almost every retail outlet, upscale and affordable lines, will offer a pencil skirt. I would try some on first before investing in a tailor made piece!

yeah thats exactly what i was thinking to pair it up with that blouse :cb:

so no high waisted pencil skirt for me? :hmmm:

Oh come on luv! No ones gona go around saying ‘chi, look at her pussybow’ More like ‘wow, check out her pussybow’

How on earth do they come up with these names!

:cb:

i know i can buy it but i hate it when i spend money on sumthing and it doesn fit really well and i always have to get it altered afterwards :bummer:

and for curvy shape its really hard to find one that really fits :bummer: i always have problem with skirts that it always end up loose at the waist :smack: like i have 1 or 2 inches hanging from the waist while it fits at every other place and it looks like im wearing a potato sack :cb:

so tailor made is the best option

Re: GS fashionistas!!

you ladies are baaaad.

what is wrong with the world "pussybow"?
it comes from the kind of bow that you would tie on a kitty cat or a kitten......

tsk, tsk, tsk.

Re: GS fashionistas!!

wht is a pencil skirt??? drawn / woven with a pencil???

iss se behter to ghaas-phoons hai...stay in touch with ur natural instincts and nature aswell...

Re: GS fashionistas!!

Milly I didnt invent the name but I hate it even though the blouses are so cute.

Kalli Billi i'd suggest you try A-Line skirts because they would work well with fitting snugly around the waist and flowing down your hips.

Re: GS fashionistas!!

pussy bow blouses r also called "bow tie blouses" :D

adrestia u can get one now :D

Re: GS fashionistas!!
