I haven't watched the ring.....but is it a scary movie?
Evil-Dead :~)
Yes, The Ring and Evil Dead are cool horror flicks also.
So was Omen. Anyone recall this movie?
andaz apna apna :~)
Amytyville Horror....oh my! I watched that when I was 6 years old. HUGE mistake. I was petrified and I think the movie has psychologically scarred me for life. Did you know it is based on actual events??? The house really does exist. Scary stuff indeed and the murder of an entire family by the son who believed he was possessed really did happen! I have yet to watch it again cause I'm too scared. (:
I was afraid of that movie and Poltergeist until I watched Poltergeist again a few years ago and realised that the movie is simply stupid.
The only other movie to scare the crap out of me has been The Ring and this other movie...very similar to The Others but was made a few years earlier in 1995 starring Aidan Quinn and Kate Beckinsale called Haunted. Check it out...it's a very good flick!!
I was about to open a thread but you beat me to it.
The Exorcist: Bazuzu still gives me creeps. And they're making a new Exorcist. A sequal/prequal.
The Ring: The girl walking through the tv screen is probably the best scary scene ever.
Friday the 13th (up to part 5)
Nightmare on Elm Street (all of them except for the last one)
Evil Dead
Devdas (the new one): an overload of over acting and cheesy dialogues. I think this was the best scary movie ever.
Bram Stoker's Dracula wasn't much of a horror movie but it was entertaining. Worth watching for Keanu Reeves hopeless attempts at an English accent alone.
Evil Dead and The Omen were good. I haven't seen The Ring, is it any good?
Just remembered one of my favourites:
The Candyman
now that was different...
Raaz?

Couldn't agree with you more. The exorcist......I was sleepless with fear the night I saw it. Bazuzu haunted my mind for months.
And the girl coming out of the t.v screen in ring......havn't seen anything more horrific ever in my life....and don't intend on seeing anything like that ever. Whole theatre gasped on that scene. Yeah....BEST SCARY SCENE EVER.
Some more horror flicks .....
Blair witch project : Now this one is also a scary one. You don't actually see the witch.....but the realistic settings and acting is enuff to send chills down one's spine.
The Shining: Jack Nicholsan has played the role of a writer with a mental block with gr8 efficiency. He really scares the hell out of people when he runs behind his kid with an axe.

i was traumatized by watching that.... My friends and i used to dare each other afterwards (to say Candyman five times into a mirror). i don't know whether it would scare me now, but when i saw it - i was absolutely petrified. It was definitely one of the scariest movies i had seen then.
Someone mentioned The Shining - that was slightly freaky too. What superb acting from that little boy and from Jack Nicholson.
Lol at the thought of Nadia being too scared to say Candyman :D
I just thought the concept was great. The abjectness of the black projects (slums) and Candyman's background history just really hit the mark. And you couldn't say that it was run of the mill.
Another good one was Near Dark, a really stylized vampire movie.
Xtreme, I will check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
Sar katta Insaan...
(pakistani horror flick starring Zia Mohiuddin)
Wow, a Pakistani horror flick, huh? Wonderful :)
^ In fact, it was great horror movie at that time but now its just a regular comedy movie for new generation.
its more like comedy, i dont know why but i always find it funny when all those demons are laughing ![]()
