It seems like MQM have left the PPP govt for good and more likely to join hands with PML-N to form Grand Opposition Alliance, JI have already signaled their willingness to join such Alliance, whereas JUI aka Diesel is all set o give up the seat of opposition leader in senate for sake of such alliance. If such alliance is to be formed, apart from ANP, PPP and PML-Q ( most members of PML-Q are ready to leave party to join PML-N or take solo flight) rest of the parties will be and are capable of bringing people on the streets and carry on mass rallies and long march against the govt. These parties are helped well with the ill-visioned govt and leadership of Zardari…
But with all that going on, PTI seems to have its own strategy, so far the chairman of the party, Imran Khan, has shown either no interest or categorically denied to join any alliance what so ever, where does this leaves them!! with no presentation in parliament, with Media having more interesting news about the grand alliance and stuff to run helped by incapable media team, with no spokesperson from PTI ( other than IK), with lack of resources and with no heads or very few heads to compete elections, with the seat adjustment formula among the GOA parties, where would PTI stand?
This questions comes to mind because, PTI is claiming itself to be most popular party in Pakistan with (some of the jiyalas of the party claiming to win substantial presentation in assemblies… is it another Tehreek-e-Istaqlaal and Asghar Khan??
Well well well.
Alliance of big enemies against PPP in parliament is understandable it's make ppp think a lot before taking any move in house ,a strong opposition is not a bad idea but if this alliane start to make strikes or calls for mid term elections is not a good move let finish them their fixed time and Waite for next general election. As for as imran khan he seems to be quite satisfied to run his one man show bcoz in his nature it's proved too many time that he just want to be only One super star and it's against his pride to join such alliance.
^^ PM gillani have rightly said, no time for mid-term elections, by this year end, govt would complete its 4 years, there might be a call for early elections... which is by no mean un-democratic, after all a party which have achieved nothing in last 4 years won't be able to perform miracle in its last year...

As PTI has no representation in parliament I think they will be left hung for dry, though Imran Khan would love to join the rally against government but he probably is thinking of himself as king while looking at popularity numbers but come elections time he will get reality check. He will be again standing in a corner.

I tend to lean towards idea that PTI will win many votes from PMLN supporters. Though I am not sure whether these votes will turn into winning of seats in parliament.
Imran Khan will have difficulty winning the seats if he keeps his party clean from the same old faces currently in the two parties. A few seats he won in by-elections were using former members of PPP/PML.

Imran Khan should not corrupt politicians or he will lose support of people
does he thinks like that or made to think in that way??? nothing is worse than under-estimation of the opponents, IK ( sorry to say) is doing the same at the moment, he is depending on the assumptions created by his advisers and making moves accordingly… he seems to be confused when all other parties like MQM, PML-N, JI, JUI are about to form an alliance to over-throw the govt…
He should have welcomed everyone and should have personally (there is no other person from his party who can be called as important leader) called the party heads and have discussed terms with them… but instead this is what he did

The moves in coming day would make picture clear, PTI may take some of the votes from PMLN but also remember that it takes 70,000 + votes ( at an average) from a constituency to win, PTI may able to bag some 5 - 10 in PML-N strong holds, and with PML-Q merging into PPP, PML-N may only face difficulty in closely fought matches which also they can re-buff by have electoral alliances where necessary with JI and JUI...
^^ and these parties normally agrees on power sharing on pro-rota basis... that is what have pulled JUI out of govt, they knew this would happen, this is what made MQM change its path after 3 and half year... it would be difficult for them otherwise to launch a campaign if they are in govt..
The only issue these parties agree on: "We want power". Wonder how long they can remain 'allied'.
Which political party does not want to come to power?
There are two very important moments in our parliaments.
One is the budget every year.
Second is elections of the members of the Senate.
Elections for the new term of senate are due within next few months.
That is too a very important reason for this so called grand alliance. Edited to update
Many were worried about the future of the dirtiest politician in the world.
His x-boss has solved the problem. Musharraf for grand alliance against PPP, PML-N
He can enjoy the new alliance with a hope to get some new puppy again.
