Re: Grand Ayatollah On Cursing the Prophet’s Wives/Companions and Taqiyyah
I actually have this video recording of a shia imaam ( Talib Johri ) reciting funny and insulting poetry about Sahabas...in a shia imaam bargah. I can post it....but then I fear that it would be too much to hear...and admins will delete it.
Could you pm me the link please? I would like to see that, I am not shia but Ido respect for Talib Johri with vast knowledge he has. i would like to see that. Thanks.
Re: Grand Ayatollah On Cursing the Prophet’s Wives/Companions and Taqiyyah
Extremism and ignorance is a norm in Sunni's and shias' today. *Just as Sunni go overboard in praising some of the sahaba (ra) regardless of their impact on development of sects and hatred ... same way Shias go to extreme in expressing love and loyatly to the family and reject their falibility. *
IMO, The best practice is to sought guidance from quran and Sunnah. do read the islamic history but give it less importance in life, because it is patchy and controversial. Taking islamic history past prophet (pbuh) too seriously and making it pillars of faith, in addition to basic faith (which is common among all muslims) is quite dangerous.
are you the moderator ? ...I think u should be....okay i didnt see u already are ...
…obviously this does not mean we start cursing them …but denying their mischef is denying Quran…just because some nutcase ayatullah is distorting history and presenting fictional accounts does not mean we go to the other extreme
Re: Grand Ayatollah On Cursing the Prophet’s Wives/Companions and Taqiyyah
The point is to stick with Thaqlain i.e Quran and Ahlulbayt [as] (according to the insturction of Holy Prophet [s] in hadith e Thaqlayn). And once it is in mind, a person can easily know where to follow Bukhari or al-Kafi

Thankyou Code Red and Ravage.
I am going to close this thread as I see both sides had ample room to not just present their views but also to deliberate upon them.
Thankyou all for your valuable input and the remarkable restraint and respect each individual showed towards the other.
