guys av initiated this thread cux i need ur help with designing rather deciding my outfit for my upcoming graduation day… this wud b my first evr convocation n degree so u cn imagine how much xcited i must b for it… the gown is of dark blue color . i need ur guidance in following areas for my dress:
Fabric: M thinkn of chiffon …wat do u guys say?
2.Color: umm whether dark or light?
for light color m thinkn ov tea pink or peach
for dark colors m considern mahroon :-s
Style: well i knw A-line long shirt is a big hit these days bt guys m skeptical abt its length cux i dnt want it to overlap with the gown’s length
Neckline & Sleeves: what shud b the neckline of dress …althou sherwani neckline suits me a lot bt i knw it wont go with the gown…any other ideas and sleeves length…
n guys pls also advice me on shoes av heard they r also one of the center of attention things in convo
at the moment i can think of only these things.. pls ad more ideas sinc some ov u guys must av experienced the graduation day b4 as well … any tips or advices for my big day are most welcome

hey UB i wish i cud wear sumthn western bt sinc m in PAK m nt sure hw my teachers wud react sinc they ill all be present n also all the parents.... our uni is quite mod bt dont knw lets see i av sstill time to think over... bdw wat ws da color ov ya shirt iv u still remember it?
umm ya black rocks bt gown color mattrs na as in the dress shud eithr contrast or gel wid it since mine is alrdy a dark color cant wer blak ... bdw wat ws ur gown color
I wore white shirt and smart pant style trouser....there was pink (light and dark) and white thread work on the gala and baazoo....and dopatta in pink and white... and yes my gown was black!!!

My shirt was stripey gold and white and my gown was black.
I guess if you're in Pakistan stick with shalwar kameez!

n girls thank you so much 4 ur feedbacks. i loved thm bt i need more input frm u guys pls put more suggestions i would luv to hear thm. i do av my own plans n these days m raly a gr8 fan of tea pink color n also it goes well with the dark blue color of my gown so m thinkn strongly abt avn it for my convo day...so wat do u guys say?
n wat abt A-line style will it look fine with the gown's length?
n besides tea pink wat oda colors wud u suggest n if tea pink thn advice on the contrasting color for embroidery n stf
It was years ago about 13 years to be exact but I wore a Red Sari and I think I looked pretty stylish. Black trousers and shirt is too bore. I'm in Uk so Sari is okay for here. Not sure how it would be in pak.
Right now I guess I would follow the current trend for long shirt but more open sshirt style with bain gala
Here’s what I’m thinking for my grad… something classy, smart and elegant… and u can’t get any simpler than black and white… my grad is going to be in october so its going to be quite cold …
this is the one I’m really liking for now! A black and white dress with leggings or trouser (most likely trousers or jeans) and high heels..
some hijab ideas (I would go with the simple black one with the white dots, I wear that one to all my interviews etc, looks simple and elegant)..
some more ideas…
this one’s more of a college student look methinks… ?
I might change my mind and go for a bit of colour… ?
don’t know.. haven’t decided yet…
PS: I know this thread was probably asking about desi clothes but I’m just putting these ideas down for myself and others who may be interested… all of the above are from Next.
