I have to wear black/white and it's strictly smart formal wear...I'd love to add some colour to my outfit but they're pretty strict with the dress code.
My graduation is tomorrow i'A and I just about managed to get my outfit today. I'm wearing a white ruffled blouse tucked into a pair of black high waisted trousers. I bought some new black heels as well as all the ones I have are too high and I really don't want to tempt fate with all the stairs I'm going have to walk up and down in my robe :D

I've had two graduations now (UK) and the trouser and shirt deal is definitely out even though these were institutions were you would expect a strict dress code (that's what I wore though because it was easy). It's skirts with blouses or pretty but simple dresses. I'm probably going to go with a dress for my next one.
I would never wear a dress with trousers or leggings to a graduation, that's far too casual.

so whats the deal with graduations? Formal wear? Like a suit or simply shirt n trouser?
I think suits should be for the guys to wear. Stick to trousers, shirts, dresses and tights (if one feels comfortable).
Leggings would be a no-no. Too casual. I would say formal in the respect, well cut clothes and subtle accessories.

I actually don’t even own a single pair of leggings, never worn em, so I’ll stick with trousers, a nice shirt/dress, and a cardigan or somethin… depending on how cold it is…
