I think by cutting down to 15 provinces its a good thing - its a real devolution of power.

That's a good point. MQM has not started the "within the family" top leader yet.

However the issue at hand is relatively simple. Why do our political leaders treat their parties as "Jagirs" and estates? From that perspective MQM, PML-A B C D N O P Q, PPP, ANP etc etc. all are the parties with "president-for-life" gods (with small g) at their top.

These poor things never understood, that it is better to change the party chairman every two years. There must be a "retirement" time for AZ, NS, Asfand, Imran, Qazi, and Altaf etc. etc.

If they don't leave, their parties will remain "undemocratic jagirs", then how can we ever expect that such parties will maintain democratic traditions in the country?

Party Head Person term should be for 3 years. He/she can be selected for 2 consecutive terms (6Years) but after serving 6 years has to wait 6 years before he can run again. He can't be elected for more than 4 terms.

okay he has one son Hasan Sharif and one daughter Mariam Safdar.

If this can happen then poverty will deminish fast, providing the funds via parliament are well used when allocated to the selected area members.

Me and my friends grew up ont his idea for the betterment of the country.

Unfortunatly, this cannot happen under the "jagir nizam" as the deep pocket jagirdaars have small hearts.

It is time we the people demand from our political leaders that they must give up their stranglehold on the parties.

MQM, PML-N, Q, and PPP are personal jagirs and fiefdoms right now. MQM leaders behave like midget courtiers in front of Altaf, and same sad situation is there in PPP and PML parties.

Political parties have to be "democratic" and not "feudal zamins".

How can they bring true democracy in the country if political parties are ruled by iron fisted feudal lords.

He is right India split east Punjab into 2 and created state of Haryana.
