doesn't make any sense. jis nay tuesday ko gosht pakana ho wo monday ko hi khareed lay? how it will limit meat consumption? and meat dishes are available on hotels 7 days a week.
meat industry is just like any other so the workers are entitled to get at least one day a week off.
also, the way the "on-the-street" meat industry is operated, you need one day a week to clean/disinfect it thoroughly and to dispose off/incinerate scrap meat.

yeh kaam yahaN har raat ko hotaa hai…jo kaam na kare use chhuTTii nahiiN miltii yaa phir uskii chhuTTii kar dii jaatii hai!

Not everyone would buy meat in advance to cook on off days. Its consumer behavior that reduce consumption because of off days.
