There ain’t be any GORs in Pakistan, but there are many, can anyone launch a movement against GORs, these Govt Officers Residents are occupying lands worth of billions for free, secondly, the govt officers normally secure their GORs from load-shedding and other evils and thinks everything is fine in Pakistan. Let Govt. officers stay in public societies so they should know what people are going through and in order to make life easy for him and his family, he would no create hurdles yet would expedite things to eliminate evils..
So it is in benefit of society and govt by every mean to sell these GORs ( it would be better then selling govt organizations, as it would create more revenue for atleast next 3-4 years) and use that money for public development and payment of loans.

Yes GOR residences are for Govt Officials, but they are not free, the officials pay 25% of their pay + utilities to live there, similar to Cantonments!, so what's the point?

The point is that unless ALL citizens are treated equal, the privileged class will never move to resolve the issues faced by 'common man'. How about fauji officers and bearucrats paying 25% of the market rent that could be obtained using that property?
Those living in GORs and Cantonments are immune from what citizens suffer and hence the indifference. These class differences, created by British, still exist today. Why should a Railways officer, for example, get a 8 kanal house in the heart of a major city while lower ranked employees struggle to get even a 8x10 foot room?
Why should doctors working in government hospitals or teachers teaching in government run school not get similar privileges?

Exactly and we need to re-claim the property of the the state for the people of the state.
in contrast to GORs, in Askari and DHAs and Bahria, at least common man can buy a house and live.. in GORs no chance.
As a matter of fact, i do not like Military Police standing on positions in the middle of the road leading to cantt. areas. It just seems like you are entering in some other zone, we are as vulnerable to the terrorist threats as military installments are, so if these military and Govt. Officers began to live within the people then their priority would be bring peace to all areas of the locality and not for some particular areas.

More illegally privileged on national wealth are military officers who have defence colonies and living in much lavishly than government officers. Can you start movement first against them, then comedown to government officers?
Secondly will your PM, CM Punjab and other in PML(N) can also surrender the billion dollar illegal properties living lavishly in their palaces and farm houses and set example for others?
Thirldly, will businessmen and elite class prove transparently how they made their palaces, mentions, etc after paying taxes to the government?

Kaka bali, we are talking about Govt officers otherwise known as Bureaucrats, the people who actually runs the govt...... once these people are back in the people of Pakistan, military and politicians will come back to the track... because these people for their own good won't let politicians and army runaway with things, today the scenario is, it is these govt officers who are giving stupid advices to the political and military elite...
And please, we are not talking about Millions of dollars of political elite out of Pakistan... as an interesting fact, these Govt Officers may have billions stashed in the foreign account, remember Jamat Ali Shah??? he have land in Canada bigger then the size of Pakistan... right???
