Only just spotted this thread so will input too.
I think a lot of girls (not all of course) coming over from Pakistan have unrealistic expectations of the west based on what they hear, what they see on TV (ever noticed how the Pakistani families based in the UK in dramas have massive houses and even helicopters on ARY etc?!) and because they see the west as a land of pure opportunity-heaven knows these girls need a reality check.
They have all these things running through their head and for some bizarre reason think they can get away with more here than in Pakistan e.g. asking for their own house rather than living in the joint family set up. Then there's there high and mighty act because in Pakistan they never worked because their parents paid their way thus they feel superior over us poor souls who work. Most girls in Pakistan (once married) do not worry about direct debts going out of their accounts, picking up children from school, sorting out bills, cleaning the home from top to bottom (okay they do clean in Pakistan), work for a living in possibly a stressful environment...in other words our lifestyle is so different. So these girls rather than thinking they'll give this lifestyle a try start with nakhrey.
I know a few lads who recently got married in Pakistan and recently their homes have turned into battlefields because their wives want to live on their own rather than in a joint family even though back home they are a part of a happy joint family system!
I suppose the nakhrey ain't the worst thing about some girls...I find the ones who use a brother to get to the west and dump him and bring over their love from abroad the worst kind of desis who should be shot.
