On the topic: TLK bhai G1 is nice but you have to see the overall platform and from what I see iPhone has a very good platform where there are more applications available and android is lacking that right now (they will have them soon).. multi-touch is another thing, G1 doesn't have true multi-touch and its fatter than the iPhone
you can get an unlocked iphone and use it on tmobile.. :)

^ if anything - we can expect the G1 to have a faster turnaround of essential as well as value-added applications. With Google's open platform philosophy and the multitude of public mashups and open APIs, it'll prolly take much lesser time for the G1 to catch up with the iPhone.

I agree, and that was the main philosophy when google came up with this idea of G1 phone.
We still will have die hard Iphone fan but G1 wiil be a success too

They are looking for guinea pigs to test out this product and pay from their own pockets for the experience. TLK unkil, pls go for it. G1 seems very very unrefined and clunky. Android is completely untested in real world. My personal philosophy is to let others pay for these kinds of beta testings. Once the software stabilizes, then we'll talk.

I have few friends in Tmobile who do new phone testings. I will check with them about their opinion and post back
me personally don't like the I-Phone, Battery Life is in sufficient for me atleast, looks don't matter much to me, doesn't help me much with my work either, lets just put it this way, my Nokia E90 does all the stuff that the I-phone can't, for example and this might sound stupid but at times I really don't feel the need to carry my laptop around where ever I go, from a professional point of view the I-Phone lacks a few options such as Microsoft Office files compatibility.
well I think (but thats just me) that the I Phone + the BlackBerry 8800 Curve = the Nokia E90 again but thats just me.
on the other hand I don't think the G1 will ever be sold in the Middle Eastern Market, I don't know but I am having a feeling, just like the Nokia 810 or a few other phones, but it does look superb.

It's lacking bluetooth connectivity (only available for headset)!!! But like the keyboard.. I guess one has to test it out before buying.
Normally I’d say go right ahead and dump your (hard-earned?) money to test these kinda products, but since I like you TLK unkil, so my mashwara (unsolicited, of course) is to thand rakho. You don’t have to be on the bleeding edge of technology here. For a change, let others identify all the bugs and short-comings of this dude.

Not really. Prices announced by T-Mobile suggest that G1 is $179 with a 2 year contract. iPhone is $199 with a 2 year contract.
But price is really not in play here. iPhone has been around more than a year, has a long list of applications for it and pretty much has stabilized as a phone and as a platform. G1 is new, untested and Android has not gone through real world experience at all. Plus G1 looks much bigger and clunky compared to iPhone. Its unclear how many apps are out there for Android. So right now its apples and oranges comparison. Plus not every new phone has to be an iPhone killer. Cellphone market is big enough to sustain many different kinds of phone.
Not to mention that iPhone is generally used only with AT&T, while G1 is exclusively on T-Mobile. At least in the US. At best G1 will provide T-Mobile customers to get something that is cutting edge (too cutting, IMO) withouth changing over to AT&T.

right now **Samsung OMNIA i900 **is the best in the market for many reasons as they have optical mouse and running WM 6.1 wid Internal GPS receiver.
Right now i m Using **Samsung i8510 16GB , 8MP Camera **and the best part of this phone is its running Symbian Latest software and Internal GPS is fully work wid ROUTE66 and TOMTOM 6.0
i m also using **N96 and N95 8GB **one .. and if i compare wid both .. only DVB Channels in N96 is advantage.
P.S. i cracked the Internal A-GPS receiver in N95 8GB to work wid TomTom 6.0 n 7.0
dats mean u dont have to pay for GPRS
