Oh :(. Sorry to hear that.
But you can remotely lock your wallet so if the phone gets stolen, you credit card info will not be accessible to anyone.

i think i was too mean on GS to samsung foon club etc, and i got jinxed. :\
locking remotely is great, if one discovers their phone being lost soon enough. how would you use the cards in google wallet in-store? there has been some ad about paypal purchases now being available in store as well.

LOL, you weren't mean at all. And the Samsung Club members are all nice people.
In store, you'd take your phone to an NFC terminal. Tap your phone over it and payment transaction takes place.

only if it were available in Canada... I'd be an early adopter. It can't get easier than NFC payments.

^^ soon there will be NFC devices in stores to make payments easier in Canada. I think there are a few places already testing it out.. McDon Aloos for example.

Oh wow, so eventually our phones will do everything eh!? I am kinda skeptical like queerio. I don't want to lose my phone and my identity along with it. :(

I think we have to learn to trust technology. Our real wallets get stolen too don't they...and in that case we don't even know what was in it. No backup. But I do understand the hesitation. Some people I know are still hesitant to order anything online.

You are right I never thought of that. I do order stuff online though :D I think with anything new we are skeptical at first but eventually adapt.

^^ Agree. Just a few months ago I was so skeptical about switching from a paper calendar to an online one. And yesterday, I found myself telling someone "I can't believe you still have stuff on paper." And this person has lost his Franklin Covey Planner several times..no backup :D, has to carry a big fat planner everywhere he goes, and then the next year, if he needs to refer to some information, he can't do a "search."

it's all a matter of perception and your own self-efficacy with technology. I for one can't wait to consolidate my payments and identity information on my phone and not have to worry about multiple cards and pieces of ID I have to carry with me everywhere I go.
Security & privacy risks? surely... but the onus is on you as an end-user to manage the technology well (with information-theft and phone-theft protection etc.) Afterall, don't we diligently manage our physical wallets, credit cards and other ID as well ? just need to port the same behavior to an online realm... objectives are the same, mechanisms are different.

If you’re using an android phone, I’d highly recommend aCalendar+ - I just spent three days exploring calendar apps for the new phone and settled on this one. It’s pretty cool. Slight learning curve but great once you get a hang of it.

I have installed Cerberus on all my android devices. It takes a picture of anyone trying to unlock my pattern locked phone and emails it to me. I can track the phone thru their site and can turn on photo/video recording remotely. For people who lose stuff I don't have anything to say. I do have a little story:
Once, long time ago a baba used to smoke and would carry around a pack of cigg and a Bic lighter. Every 2 days the lighter would be lost and the baba didn't know what to do to not loose that lighter. One day he got an expensive Zippo lighter as a gift and he loved it. The lighter was treasured and baba worried that he'd loose it so he would always make sure to keep an eye on it. He never lost that Zippo :)
Moral of the story, when you buy something put some love in it and you won't loose it!

I went to my local grocery store today and they had banners of their store app that’s now available. So while standing in line, Ms. Niksik downloads the app. Now many years ago I had signed up for the store discount card which activates the deals of the day when u scan it at checkout. So my turn comes and I ask the lady at the register if I can sync my old card with the app. She’s like whaaaaaaaah? What’s an app? You can go to Safeway.com. 
. Anyway, she calls the manager, and all of a sudden there’s a whole bunch of folks around me , everyone wanting to see that app on my phone. The manager has no idea what to tell me. Of course when I signed up for their card, I must have used an email ID which I cannot remember for the life of me, but I do know how to go about the process. Thennnnnn, Niksik asks the manager if their store has NFC terminals and he says, “Mrs. Khan, I’m really sorry but we’re really not ready for you. Were you able to find all the things you were looking for today?”
