Re: Google Wallet
You go girl! :k:
I can picture the look on the cashier’s and manager’s faces… but how stupid of safeway to be advertising the app and not train their staff about it - esp. the store managers.
Was this the “Just for U” app? I discussed it in class a few months back in my graduate course on mobile commerce.
Re: Google Wallet
Lucid, yes, that’s the one. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.safeway.client.android.safeway&hl=en
What did you discuss? Tell me.
Re: Google Wallet
well it was in the context of mobile marketing programs and loyalty programs. Mobile coupons - esp. location based ones are regarded as a viable mobile offering and we were discussing how retailers like Target, JC Penny and Safeway in the US are stepping into this area.

Aaah I see.
Wish they could train their staff better. :D
Re: Google Wallet
Japan has those google wallet things already on their phones, bus/train cards. So the Americans probably liked the idea and decided to use it.
you just place it onto the machine and you're done. Kinda scary if you're a shopperholic

Re: Google Wallet
I already swipe away without knowing what the bill was. :(

Don't we all, don't we all?
Just in July I bought:
- A brand new S3
- 2 cases for it, one $20 that I trashed, and one $9 that I like and use
- 3 screen protectors for the S3
- A Nexus 7
- Screen protectors for the N7
- Arm band to store my S3 during workouts
- Workout gloves (sorry not related to this forum)
Umm, I think that's pretty much it.

But I'm sure you do know approximately what the bill would be. If I was at a chaat shop the samosa chaat would cost me X dollars, so at the end I don't need to go and check if X is what you were charged. Unless u're scrooge :)

I just gave a lecture on how to keep accounting of the daily calorie "expenditure". If you can spend it then don't count, or you loose the barkat :D

Well its usually more than one item. I know the amount for each of course but I never pay attention to what the cashier tells me the total is. Although yes, I know approximately. I like your example of samosa chaat. :D
