Did anyone else start with the Android app-inventor yet? I was thinking maybe we should get a place start some kinda project or 2 so n00bs like me can learn a little bit. Any interest?

Have you used XDA develoeprs app? they have their forum and in their app they list the updated posts. so we can use the “real-time” posts to be appear in the app .. .. + we can give an other “tab” to show the “subscribed” posts and then a third tab to show the private messages.
I am being serious here .. if you want me to a troll then .. “gs match making” is not a bad idea ..

ok, so let’s start planning on what we can do with an Android app. I mean serious discussion. so no match making in the geek section. I’m going to get the dev kit installed and we’ll start.

one thing i realized here.
android market place has no restrictions or review policy. so if you make any thing and submit it to the market place it will appear immediately. So this thread title is pretty insane. There is no ‘approval’ process for android.
also with the app inventor you can only make useless apps, which quite frankly nobody needs.

I have an app listed in the android market place. Google doesn’t enforce anything for android.
And before you jump the gun. Read the link again you have posted yourself, those are for the Google Apps Marketplace, not android market place.

^True at the moment Google doesn’t have any review policy for android apps! won’t be downloading android apps without checking out the publisher first.
As for Android app-inventor i’d say its probably good for doing some basic gui stuff or prototypes etc although i find drag and drop development tools not very useful better to do it manually if you wanna really learn.
