Good news of the decade for Pakistan

Re: Good news of the decade for Pakistan

You are writing as if it was due to PTI that Pakistan did not start military operation against Taliban, when fact is that, it was not PTI but PMLN that was holding military operation against Taliban, else operation would have started much before election (when PTI was not even in parliament).

So, it was not PTI alone who wanted no action against Taliban, Thug Nawaz and PMLN are equally guilty, rather more than PTI, as it was due to not antagonizing Nawaz who Zardari feared, PPP (especially Zardari) did not go for military operation against Taliban, even when most PPP parliamentarians, ANP and MQM were for military operation. Kyani and Choor Iftikhar, both on payroll of Thug Nawaz, also played negative role in creating hindrance for military operation against Taliban just to make their pay-master Nawaz happy.

Another fact is that, even when army started military operation against Taliban, it was army’s own initiative against the wishes of PMLN government … and one can find plenty of evidences to conclude that.

Let look into some background reports and see who were responsible of not starting military operation against Taliban.

Report below clearly talks about PMLN responsible of no military action against Taliban making people ask what PMLN intend to negotiate.

The paradox of Taliban peace talks

The paradox of Taliban peace talks
*
Conventional wisdom claims that it is not always wise to take up arms to end armed conflicts; nonetheless, negotiations will only be the best way to cope with growing tensions when both parties have the will to participate in peace building*

Since taking power last June, the PML-N has shown chronic political ambiguity and ambivalence when dealing with the issue of whether to hold talks with or take firm military action against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The PTI can also be put in the same political framework as the PML-N. Both have vacillated on the TTP issue. In a recent press conference at the PTI Secretariat in Islamabad, Imran ‘anti-drone strike’ Khan divulged that his party and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s inability to initiate dialogue with the TTP was due to absence of authority from the Centre and a lack of power over the security services. Naively, he threw the Taliban talks ball in the PML-N’s court, urging them to call for another All Parties Conference (APC).

Actually throughout PPP government, PTI but specially PMLN were anti-military operation against Taliban … and Zardari, weak at his ankle and empty brain, fearful of PMLN, always agreed with PML-N even though most in PPP along with ANP and MQM were asking for military operation against Taliban.

If anyone reads the article below (published just after election, in June 2013), one would find both PTI and PML-N together when it comes to not using operation against Taliban and rely only on negotiation.

Negotiations are about give and take. They are about arriving at compromises. What are the compromises that the PTI and PML-N would be in a position to make?
… …
Looking deeper into the negotiations, one needs to understand how the actual process would unfold. Both the leading political parties PTI and PML-N have long been in favour of negotiations with the Taliban. Now, they are beholden to their own cultivated narrative on the policy of negotiation. So, negotiate they must, but on what terms and conditions? The centre-right PML-N is pragmatist, while the PTI favours a whole-hearted far right policy. Despite its policy of negotiations, PML-N makes muted voices over terrorism and is cognizant of the need to block external funding of Taliban. Both** the PTI and the PML-N are **opposed to drone attacks. The bottom line is: what is it that they going to negotiate on?
