hi, im going to invest in a good set of brushes and ive heard that MAC and BOBBI BROWN do good brushes. the main ones i need are: blusher,foundation,lip, face blending brush. Has any1 tried any of these companys brushes, and if so how have you found them?

I apply my foundation with my fingers, and it comes out perfectly fine.. atleast i dont find anythin wrong wtih it! I dun wear blush and i use the lil lip brush that comes with my lip gloss palette (Revlon). But i've heard its not a gud idea to use those itty bitty brushes that come with the powder/blush ... how bout eyeshadow brushes? ther'es like 4 diff kinds, blending, spongy, eyeliner brush etc etc.. hmmm

i already have eyeshdow bruses. well, actually just 2, one for applying shadow to whole lid, and 1 for blendingg. thats it. i cant be bothered with appling loads of different shades though, i just use 1 or 2 at a time.

MAC has killer makeup supplies..
or get someone in Pak to send you some.. they have incredible ones there and its cheaper.

They have mac in pakistan???? is it real mac or fake mac (fac)??? I can never find gudmakeup in pak , where can u find mac, estee laduer, lancome etc etc?

HKB has some stuff .. and Mini Market Gulberg.. city towes..
CT has some Pakistani stuff too but its incredible.. makes you look like a movie star. =)

Really?? I dun remmeber seeinganything nice or decent at HKB.... at liberty, anarkali etc, everywhere we go, whever i'm wtih is like, "ooo main bazaar sey sasta milay ghaa!" Like hell no! :o... i dunno any good, superior pakistani brands (like the estee lauder/lancome etc of southasia) but I love the looks I"ve seen in pakistani bridal magazines.. seriously only pakistan cud have glitter eyeliner/eyeshadow, i havnt seen that anywhere else

Any makeup brushes you are going to buy, make sure you test them out. By this I mean look at the head of the brush, the hairs should be soft against your skin and if the hairs arent already holding their shape then dont buy. After all its no good paying a fortune for a brush if it won't perform the job you bought it for. Also be aware that some companies use wild boar (yes I kid u not!) hair in their brush ranges.
The best brands to buy from are Trish McEvoy, Laura Mercier and Space NK. Its taken me quite a while to gather my collection. I've got a foundation brush by Body Shop, absolutely soft. Eyebrushes and Blusher brush from Space NK and my lip brush is by Trish McEvoy - the shape is sort of roundish oval, perfect for outlining and applying colour.
The basics you should have in ur collection are: foundation brush, medium eyeshadow brush, small liner brush, brow brush, lip and finally blusher. You don't need to buy them all at once, shop around. I bought a set from Mac and the only one brush I liked was the lip brush. Ended up selling it on Ebay.
Finally make sure that you wash your brushes on a regular basis in hot, soapy water and lay them flat to dry out. I wash mine every couple of weeks and they still look like new. Let me know if you need any further info.

Always use a mild shampoo to wash your brushes and then lay them flat on a towel or other absorbent material between 12 - 24 hours. When dry the hairs will have returned to their original shape. dont use lemon water that will destroy the shape of the brush head. Or you could use professional brush cleaners made by Bobbi Brown, Mac and others but these are pricey and mild shampoo does just as a great job. Its amazing how many girls dont wash their brushes and then complain their makeup isnt going on well or their coming out in spots.

Hot ice Princess....do u know if sephora has good brushes? I am not familiar with the places u bought ur brushes from....are there any websites??? I know estee lauder has good brushes...but they r pricey...so looking for something cheaper so I can buy all the brushes

Bobby Brown make-up brushes are good, but they use animal hair for some of them, blusher ones to be precise. Mac do the best eye make-up brushes and Pout have a really good range too. They aren't cheap mind, and make sure you know how to use them before you buy them.

Body shop brushes are the BEST one i have ever come across, they are 100% durable, easy to wash and u have a whole variety of brushes, shapes and sizes.
The ones from Estee Lauder r CRAPP the bristles fall out. and the Loreal brushes turn into hay when you wash them!!!!
(trust me... ive used them ALL)

Hey am not quite familiar with Sephora as I’m in the UK but judging by the reviews I’ve seen on MakeupAlley.com they seem to be reasonable. If your in the UK why not check out www.spacenk.com it’s a beauty junkie’s paradise. They stock all the hard to get hold of ranges like Stila, Laura Mercier etc. Your best bet at the moment is to check out Ebay (uk site) as theres someone selling Trish McEvoy brushes. They are the best of the best, forget Mac if you want the best go for Trish’s brushes. Sorry guys but I literally am a beauty junkie. There I’ve said it. I feel better.
