Re: good halal food in london

Why don't you try Kebabish, Himalaya oh and Ambala's do food..not just mithai! Kebabish and Himalaya are in Green Street btw.

Re: good halal food in london

Green Street or Southall for proper restaurants, Pakistani food that is.

Edgware Road for halal but not Pakistani food.

Most Nando's are halal too.

Re: good halal food in london

Re: good halal food in london

No halal Pizza Hut. There are a few halal Nandos like in Tooting but not all so do check. KFC is not halal but Chicken Cottage and Dixys are.

Re: good halal food in london

But you can get lots of halal pizza places, look for the halal sign on the window.

Re: good halal food in london

i have eaten @ kebabish which is in upton park and it was just ok...too spicy for me....they put some extra chaat masala over the grilled food:-/..this green street is green park right?

@rupayhalwa ...this lebanese turkish food i have eaten already at westfield in shepherd's bush...

@uzzybuzzy...there is no halal pizza hut in whole london? :O BAD...i have aten at Nando's as well..yaar chicken cottage @ oxford indeed sucks:-/ with that bad experience didn't bother to try @ dixys:$

rupay which halal pizza places do u recommend...anyone near to pizza hut(in taste) here? :S

by the way last night i was in camden town and there found fri-chicks...didn't try but that was appearing to me much closer to kfc...

anyway tonight had a gr8 dinner ..though quite expensive but indeed awesome at bundu khan, aldgate east...

give me some more suggestions..keep them coming friends...yeah londoners c'mon!

Re: good halal food in london

There is a halal Domino's in Finchley. I think East Finchley. Only chicken though. Or so they claim.

Re: good halal food in london

If you are in South London, check Tooting out

Re: good halal food in london

Sorry mate, cannot recomment any pizza's, they r all a bit different from eachother, not really chains. Check Milly's suggested Domino's.

Re: good halal food in london

Check out zabihah.com. It has listing of halal places all over the world. I use it for my home state in America. This is a site for word of mouth meaning if a person discovers a halal place, they add it to the site. The caveat is on you to confirm any location listed as halal.

Re: good halal food in london

i’ve found some reeeally good chinese places in the bayswater area.

check out Kiasu… straits of malacca/malaysian/singaporean/chinese/thai type food. quite different from your usual fare and pretty cheap (weekdays lunch 5 pounds for starter+main course)

also there is magic wok a shanghainese restaurant thats recently gone Halal.

Re: good halal food in london

There is C&R restaurant which is Chinese in bayswater. Also Lebanese Called Alunak (spelling maybe wrong). Opposite C&R there is a halal Nandos.

Re: good halal food in london

The Maroush chain :@: … great food and atmosphere. Visit their site to find info as they have a couple of restaurants in London…

They should pay me for the free advertising they are getting from me :hmmm:

Re: good halal food in london

^ Hey I went to a Maroush and they gave me and other lady in our group a nicely decorated gift wrapped dish of baklava. Nice touch. :)

Re: good halal food in london

i know you said not tayyabs but since i just went there for the first time on my trip, ive gotta say the lamb chops were out of this world! and if u live in london u need to try that place!

Re: good halal food in london

Yes Maroush is very nice - Lebanese cuisine - I agree when they the staff see some ladies, they give something or the other for free..

There is also Beirut Express on Edgeware Road - they do amazing freshly cooked food!

Re: good halal food in london

Hmm, I've heard alot about these lamb chops... But 3 people I know in real life went there and had dodgy stomachs afterwards, however, I think I might risk that just to see what the fuss is about!
