good halal food in london

Re: good halal food in london

There are also 2 halal italians on edgeware road. One is Valentino's or something, may be owned by the Maroush chain, haven't tried it yet tho. Anyone?

Re: good halal food in london

In kensington/earls court - tough.

There's Randa on Kensington Church st - it's lebanese but yummy.
If you're looking for finer dining try Blue Elephant in Fulham (its Thai), or indeed sister restuarant 'La Porte des Indes' (Indian with a french influence) in Marble Arch.
Awana is good for Malaysian food, in Belgravia

Are you sure? My family (4 siblings and their families=22 people) have been eating from Tayyabs for years now and they have never had any complaints. I lived there for a year a few years back and we had Tayyabs every Friday night and I can also vouch for their freshness.

Maybe it was a one off incident or they ate something else prior to or after Tayyabs that was the real culprit.

And the Lamb chops are a staple for us when we order!

Re: good halal food in london

^ Lamb chops, here I come!!!

BTW, Blue Elephant looks great on the inside, but I wouldn't rate their food as being great.

Re: good halal food in london

There is a restuarant by the name of Lahore Chargha house I think...it's been there since 1970's I heard...The food was exceptional...the best I have had in a while ...

Re: good halal food in london

I 2nd that! The decor is beautiful but the food is so-so! I had a dodgy stomach afterwards.

well just came back and really had a gr8 time there...i wud say that still halal food is a problem for tourists in london..u dont easily get halal chicken sandwiches from tesco, boots etc..have to have the egg mayo or fish or veggie sandwiches with a face like this--> :(:(

during my stay i found this one indian restaurnat ,Zeera in Mile End and on sunday they have a nice buffet dinner ..and i really liked their food...

Bundu khan was tooo expensive ....but it was worth-trying..

Nagina in Southall was nice...there were so many halal restaurants in Wembley but a few were nice...
i found Halal Nando's over there both at Wembley and Stratford and i think i was lucky bcz got Domino's Roast chicken pizza halal as well in Wembley...Subway in Wembley was halal...

but i found Sam's much closer to KFC...it was indeed gr8....their twister was awesome...spicy wings very delicious...much much better than the weird Chicken cottage or even dixy:-/..i agree with u mizzrani

Moreover..the lebanese food chain in Westfield mall was so lovely...they really served the real lebanese food...

wildhalcyon..i have already visited this zabiheh site and its good...
didn't get a chance to visit tayyab's...the distances really suck man...everything is so far...

sunset_eyes...beirut express is also in dubai so it was not a choice for me...wanted to taste something diff...
tigerlily...earls court has a lot of halal restaurants around but i wud say that there is this Star Kebab restaurant...they had really bad sucking bhuna gosht and i wud say tha it was indeed worst to visit it...that was a mujboori type restaurant for us bcz it was open till late:-/
but near to that "masala indian" is nice...hmm not a big fan of malaysian food though!

alishaht u r late man:(:(...lahore chargha house now i miss:-/

the emergency food for me were fish burger(ok ok),spicy veggie(nice),only veggie burger(sucks) from McDonald...and yeah the Burger king 's chicken royale was gr8 as well...found in walthamstow...
anyway thankx everyone for helping out...! the trip is over but memories r there:)

Re: good halal food in london

^ Pleased you had a nice trip, do come again!

Re: good halal food in london

Yeah I don't ever go to Star Kebab, but Masala Zone is nice.

I found another Halal thai, for anyone else that's interested - it's called Blue Lagoon, on Kensington high st. It says halal meat on the menu, but prob worth double checking.

I just had prawns, so didn't ask for confirmation.

Blue elephant I agree is a bit of a disappointment, but the decor is lovely. Apparently the best thing they do is Massamam curry
