Major Abid laid to rest

LAHORE, May 20, 2009 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) – Major Abid Majeed, who was martyred while fighting against militants in Nazarabad area of Matta Tehsil, was laid to rest here in Army Ground, Shaudha Graveyard with complete military honours.

The funeral was attend by Corps Commander Lahore Major General Ijaz Ahad Bakhshi and relatives, friends and military officials in a great number. Shaheed Major Abid left behind widow, a son and a daughter.
Corps Commander Lahore laid floral wreath on behalf of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.

Major Abid Majid got commission in Pakistan Army in 1997 and most of time served on battle front. He served in UN Peace Mission in Congo and also posted in Siachen. The mother of Shaheed Major Abid while talking to a private TV channel told that she is proud of her son who embraced Shahdat while fighting against enemies of the motherland. The widow of Major Abid Shaheed said that it was his (Major Abid) desire to embrace Shahdat

Captain Umar Zaib Afzal (Shaheed) who embraced Shahadat during the operation Rah-e-Rast at Tamergara on Thursday May 21, 2009.

The funeral was held at Rawalpindi Race Course Ground on Friday May 22, 2009. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the Guard of Honour to the Shaheed.

Lieutenant General Javed Zia, Adjutenent General, Lieutenant General Rehan Burney, Surgeon General and number of senior serving and retired Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, Jawans, relatives of Shaheed and people from all walks of life attended the Namaz-e-Jinaza.

May ALLAH shower his blessings on his soul & fmaily…And all other shaheeds who sacrificed their lives for PAKISTAN.

Please remember all shaheeds in your prayers who gave their lives for our better tomorrow

6 years back at his passing out parade at the PMA, one phrase that really captured my mind was” Men are Men, when the honor is kept”. Today, I can with pride say that not only did he understood it, but when the time came, he rose up to the occasion. A decorated SSG commando, a caring son, a source of pride for his siblings and above all, an extra ordinary human being, Bilal was killed on the morning of May 17th, 2009, at 5.30am by a direct rocket strike.

Bullets can never harm me, this is what he used to say, and in the end this was the case. He has gone to the grave with the honor that his Shahadat came only after, he and his team of 50 chosen soldier, had completed the task that was assigned to them. The same task was unfinished even after 7 days of aerial and ground assaults. He was the only causality of the operation, which shows how much Bilal was devoted to this cause.

I am here to make all the sisters, mothers and daughters of Pakistan affirm that thousands like Bilal are out there, fighting till the last breath of thier life, to secure our future. At his burial, I could easily see that every one, no matter from what profession, were all out to play their part. Whether it’s the aid of IDPs or the honesty to our own profession, every one can be a Bilal.

To the enemies of the state, thier “devil agencies” and the mercenary armies of thugs and bandits, it’s a loud call that you cannot hijack this land of pure, Pakistan. No matter what you do, we will not allow you to play with the vision of Quaid and the dream of Iqbal. We will not go into history as a fail state, and a country which has sons like Bilal, no empire or imperial power can dare think about it.

To BILAL, you will always remain close to us, and all those whom you have blessed with your presence.

You will always live, and will get what Allah has promised for those, who are killed in his path.

That Commissioner Malakand is dismissed and PM Gilani is oordered inquiry about him.This is the man who used to say Juma prayer before Fazlullah for 2 years , helped Talibans fully in capturing Swat from 2006 and Maulvi Faqeer , millitants commander of Bajaur used to stay at his home in 2007.He also helped in capturing Buner saying the local lashkar that talibans are coming just for preaching islam .Such traitors should be hanged to gallows

Look at Shaheed , Caprtains and Majors and compoare it what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan , only poor sepoys and sergeants died in roadside attacks and ambush , not officers.

This is a slap on all western zionist media who propagate doubts about Pakistan Army , its professionalism and its dedication to serve thier religion and country

Today another Captain shaheed on Swat front , i think Captain Shakeel

They all died because they were at forefront with thier jawans in this most difficult guerilla fight which is going on in streets and from house to house in Mingora and other areas . There is no intense bombing from air as happened in Iraq and Afghanistan where 100s of innocents die alongwith 2 or 3 suspected talibans .

If you want to know about Afghan Tribal situation , there is only 2 men in Pakistan who can give you max. info.Raheemullah Yousafzai and Saleem Safi .Saleem Safi himself belong to Mehmand Agency and half of his tribe is in Afghanistan
