i also know of some average or ugly girls who learn how to apply make up on correctly (make themselves hot looking). i think the secret is that they treat the men like moms. and men love to be pampered like thier moms would. so bakra sold. and after marriage all true colors come to light. lol!!

^I think to an extent that is true. People (both men and women) like to be cared for. But if one overdoes the mommying----then it can have harmful consequences as well. As in one feeling that their independence/intelligence is being undermined/invalidated, a loss of freedom to an extent, resenting the parent-like partner, and it can also be a romance killer becuase the relationship can resemble more like a parent-child or sibling relationship rather than a marriage.
As for what these girls are doing.....is it really all that novel? Are we making a bigger deal out of it just because they're ugly but succeeding??? I think that if an attractive girl didn't know how to carry herself or implement the basics in a relationship......she may not be able to make it work regardless of how blessed she is in the looks department and how little she may depend on the face paint. I guess to an extent some of the "strategies" (if you wanna call it that) are common sense: Relationships require maintainance of one's physical appearance, making the effort to look attractive for your partner, as well as mutual respect, some nurturing, some give and take, some closeness, some mystery, some time spent together, some amount of distance as well, some encouragement, some self-reliance, some seriousness, some playfulness and teasing. It's not supposed to be one-note.

But why are we ignoring the role of guys here? I feel for him. If he is really looking to settle down and is ignoring things.. well he shouldn't.
