I think, if you’re going to these events, like Reha said, you’re ready to be married and ready to seek out a partner. So I doubt it’s going to be awkward. Also, events like these are speed dating. Seemingly there shouldn’t be anything bad because these type of events are supposed to be in the favor of the woman.

As for collecting data, what kind of data? Name, age, location, vital stats etc? How is that any different from a rishta process which people are seeking to avoid? People are going to go to these events to get a feel for the person, how they are by talking to them, not what they look like on paper.
