Re: Going to Dubai

Hey firenze, make sure u don't take anything with Codeine in it.

Re: Going to Dubai

good advice. they will grab firenze and put him in the locker:chai: then i will have to come and do him a favour:chai:

Firstly, I am NOT a man.

Secondly, u may have a mighty toothache on your stopover in London and the lady at the boots counter will recommend u take Nurofen Plus and u will be captured in Dubai for possession of illegal drugs then u will have to call AishaDubaiwali and cry for help while they BEAT u with chains and hang u upside down n tickle the soles of your feet with feathers until u admit that the pills were certainly for recreational use…

Thirdly, did u hear of the case of the poor man or woman that they imprisoned bcos he had a TRACE amount of some drug on the sole of his shoe???

Re: Going to Dubai

Yeah dubai immigration is very strict because so many people pass dubai to go to other places and it is a tourist hub. The slightest doubt in their mind about someone and they wil make your life a living hell. There is a list of banned substances and things on the municipality website... those tihngs you cannot bring in to dubai i suggest you take a look at that..

:hehe: Hint: US passport Second hint: this is not Afghanistan Third Hint: Dubai can go to hell if they even show any attitude !

I am not a first time traveler who just get up one morning on (manji) and found travel agent (2no) get the dubai visa..

Can you concentrate on first post and answer some of the questions !...

So what if you have a US passport? :rotfl::omg:

they do not give a damn if u have a british passport or US god damn passport… you are not immune:omg::rotfl:

dubai doesnt need you, you can go to hell:chai:

Yeh i can see they don’t give damn for nothing, that’s why economy is falling their.. But anyway that’s not an issue right now, when it will i will see,

Secondly, i spend 2 weeks in Abu Dhabi few years back, so i know how the life their, again lets concentrate on first post, if you can’t then move out from the thread !

Hint fourth: American soldiers who stay/dance/partying in dubai..all of them are totally immune to local whatever laws you have, so better not that happy. Confirm my hint by dialing American Embassy or your local police center.

Again let me rewrite, if Dubya` show any attitude, then dubai can go to hell, but you know that too Dubya’ are not that brainless yet !

Re: Going to Dubai

3 days is too damn short!

1) How will be the weather?

Will be awesome in March! Warm enough to swim in the ocean but not too warm so that you can go outside.

2) Any good thing to see except, roads, sky scrapers, malls ?

Desert Safari is a must. A trip of the other Emirates can also be done Fujaira is beautiful. The BEACH! Free beaches are clean and nicely accessible try the one at Jumaira close to all the big hotels.

3) Any Museums, cultural, religious sites?

Sharja has an awesome Islamic History museum (google it or get a guide book) Bastikiya has festivals going on all the time a good place to spend the evening. Old Souk, Textile Souk and Deira are nice for shopping but you might not want to do much of that since shopping will be cheaper in PK. For a smilar cultural experience try Madinat Jumeira its a recreated old Arab style bazar.

You may want to drive up on the palm and check out the Atlantis hotel, it wasn't my fav. part of the whole trip but its a thing to do.

4) Restaurants/Bars for middle eastern specially UAE food ?

I personally love Khan Marjaan in the Wafi Mall its got all kinds of arabic food from every region of the mid-east. since you are short on time might be cool!

If you can only go to one bar check out 360 by Jumaira Beach Hotel, its got not cover and if you don't drink it can be pretty cheap night , they have sheesha which is reasonably priced and food is not out of control either, just the alcohol is really expensive. But the views of the Burj are amazing and the music and dancing is pretty nice.

5) Whats the Kharacha (money) apart from hotel for three days, mid/splurge ??
If you are going to splurge make a reservation at the Burj for High Tea or Friday brunch Kharcha around $300 a person. Or make a reservation at one of the bars or restaurants at the Atlantis so you can see the inside of the place. The only area open to public is outside the actual hotel. Hotel depends if you just want to rest your head you can pay as little as $100 a night.

6) Whats the best way to go around, hire a taxi, public transport, subway????

I doubt the subway will be done by March, taxis are not bad, make sure you get a metered taxi, flat rate taxis are not illigal and people will try to charge you 20 AED for a 6 AED fare! When I went we drove a relative's car with GPS totally easy to navigate and makes life much much easier, so if you can rent a car I'd highly recommend it.

Good luck and have a great time! oh if Global Villiage is still going check that out too! it's awesome!

Re: Going to Dubai

^^ Thank you , that kind a list i need from the actual people living their. Otherwise guides are available, i confirm with local UAE consulate here, American License holders can drive car their. So i might rent a car !

Thanks indeed for your time !

wearing swimsuit (gf) in abu dhabi is against local law? Correct !
