God

My earlist perception of God was that of strong diety who is looking down from heavens and watching me all the time. My mother is a religious person and she often spoke to me and my brothers about God/Khuda/Allah. Since Khuda begins with خے Khey, i thought that God must have a strong jaw.

I dunno why i thought that God knows all about everything except what i have in my heart. It was heartening to think that Allah does not know what i think about Him in my heart. Then one day my mother mentioned that Allah knows even what u think in your mind. This was a huge surprise, i oten thought how could Allah know what i think.

…more later…

Re: God

interesting.......:)

Re: God

SubhanAllah, I used to think that my family could see my thoughts in thought bubbles above my head. And when I found out that they couldnt, but Allah could see all that, it somehow didn't feel much different, and sort of made sense. It was still a sort of protective and guiding authority- which definitely aren't the words I would've used to express it back then :)

I would be interested to hear from someone whos automatic mental 'visualisation' of Allah does not involve any human physical attributes, on any level :)

Don't you think?

Re: God

THere is no God and there is no beginning nor end. there is nobody above looking down and there is nobody watching. You will just reap what you sowed.

Re: God

Who’s gonna make sure that you do?

Re: God

It is just a law of nature just like there is laws in science. For every action there is a reaction.

Re: God

who made those laws  if there is none, why dun u have a power or ability to change them? what prevents you :konfused:?

Re: God

*Dear ssingh *:)

Peace alaykum- interesting to hear your views, but could you please expand on how you came to this conclusion? :) For instance, what is the origin of existence, in your view? Where did everything come from?

It's important for you to present your conclusion with evidence, otherwise I'm afraid it's just a statement that isn't any use to anybody, except in informing people that you don't believe in God. It's sort of, kind of redundant information :) Please forgive me if this offends you- I just mean, please show your evidence/chain of thought...

..is and Allah is and Allah is and Allah is and Allah is and Allah is and Allah is and Allah..

Re: God

Obviously you will tell everything was created by God. You tell me who created God?.....if you start speaking about this who created etc etc, you will enter into an infinite loop. Your questions will never be answered. It is better to stop talking about God or who created this world. Besides, majority of the people believe in God out of some fear. I will not do that.

Re: God

God is'nt a creation.God is the Creator. He is the First and the Last.

Re: God

You didn't really answer my question :) Tell me about why you believe what you do, not about what I belive.

Re: God

We didn't come from anywhere. This universe always existed. it is uncreated. that is what i believe.

Re: God

Are you part of universe or do you consider yourself an alien?

If part of universe, then you are also uncreated?

If alien, are you created?

Re: God

always? wow- you're stating very powerful statements with complex words... but still no evidence :(

Re: God

Yes...this universe always existed. No body created it. Even if it is created, there is no point in looking for answers as to who created it. that is not important.
if you are asking for proofs, then you cannot prove that god really exists. and citing the existence of this universe cannot prove the existence of some extra cosmic entity called God, sitting somewhere in some corner of this universe!

Re: God

'the universe always existed... and even if it was created- its not important'?

I feel like you haven't really thought this through :(

Re: God

No....I have. I am not a staunch atheist. I am agnostic.

Re: God

Are you Agnostic..? Do you agree with this definition of 'agnostic:

'a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limtied to experience.' ?

...Have you ever wondered what will happen when your physical body dies?
I'm not talking about heaven and hell, I'm talking about ur mind. Not your brain either. The intangible part of you. When you cease to exist in this world as a living human being- your mind- your thinking- will cease to exist too? Even to yourself? There will be a full stop and you won't even know it because your mind itself will cease? Nothing left. Not even nothing itself.

ssingh: then you cannot prove that god really exists.
[/QUOTE]

people who believe in GOD can proove that god exsits, and there are signs all around you! Can u proove that there is no god, except for ur reason!

Re: God

Nobody can prove that God exists. Similarly nobody can prove God does not exist.

People believe because they do it out of faith. Even if it is fear - that fear comes out of faith - atleast for me and I have no problems "fearing" God.

Somebody mentioned "who created God and infinte loop arguments":=

This is also a question of faith - I believe God transcends time and space. He is anywhere and everywhere. I cannot imagine what He is, what He looks like or where He is. I believe it's beyond human capacity to do figure this out - and thats where faith come in. There are Signs, revelations and prophets - that is if one believes these exist (or have existed) and are true - beyond that it's really up to the individual.

My faith tells me God is not created and I am His creation so it would be unreasonabe on my part not to believe in Him.

I hope I have not offened anyone.
