I wonder why we are all so intollerant of others' beliefs? Is your own Iman (and I'm not talking about anyone in particular) so weak that you can't respectfully listen to or tolerate someone questioning your faith?
Sometime's we "practicing" religious folks need to remember that we are not here to judge...
"let he who is without sin cast the first stone" John 8:7
Let the tamatars fly..khatti quoted a Bible verse...oh the horror!!!
Questioning is fine but when mocking is included in questions, then, dishonesty is obvious. Pointing that out is not a crime.
And don't worry about tamatars fly. Our faith demands us to believe in Gospel too. However, the verse quoted from bible is out of context. It was directed towards a messenger. And we all know that messengers are sinless personalities. If we were to apply it on ourselves, then, no judicial system can come into existence, which will result in absolute chaos.:)

Yes, I know...my father raised me to read the gospel, torrah, bhagavad gita and other religoius scriptures...I was taught that unless I understand opposing theologies, how would I be able to exlpain our own.
Philo & Ghosty are intelligent, articulate and all around good people. I may or may not agree with their questioning or view points, but I hardly think they are "mocking" or "dishonest". Sometimes when a person feels persecuted for being different, they may sound offensive, but if everyone would just simmer down, I'm sure a reasonable, adult discourse can carry on.
Just my $0.02 on the matter, no offence meant to anyone.
Again, I don't see that as mocking, I'm thinking that if that sentence was without the smilie, you'd feel different.
I once had a manager who was a Christian missionary. She was embarking on a mission trip oversees and gave everyone on the team a special prayer bracelet...except me..as I was the only Non-Christian staff member. She said to me "I just can't include you in the prayer circle, because you pray to Allah and follow the Quran, which to means you destined for hell. Accept the Saviour Lord Jesus please.." I had to stifle my laughter. It did not, would not, could not phase me in any way shape or form. She was a nice person in every other way and after that, I still worked well with her.

and please, why does no one ever point out psyah and khojis subtle and not-so-subtle mocking and condescending attitude. how is the smiley mocking anything? i didnt say anything bad about the quran, i laughed at the argument that was being made.
I asked you where the religious scholars are disproving scientific theories in top rated science in the world and you said:
Duh. Allah mia's scholars are not astrophysicists. Why should they be battling Neil Degrasse Tyson? He is just a black man. Much like any human being. The only thing special about him is that he was lucky enough to not die, lucky enough to be born with a well-developed brain, and lucky enough to study astrophysics. Other than that, nothing special about him.

Forget subtle or not so subtle mocking and condescending attitude.. thats bound to happen in prolonged debates i think, whether its warranted or not.
What should be more alarming is the subtle and not so subtle judgement day threats. How pious. And its hilarious when the post starts with a "peace" and moves on to veiled judgement day threats..

lol.. that is all.
Why would anyone follow religion if it weren't for the dire consequences. Judgement day threats can do wonders.
If someone educates me that if I do not stop on a "All way stop" sign, then, I may be involved in an accident and/or get a ticket, then, I take it as a guidance and warning on not following that guidance. I would not strat crying "threat, threat, threat" or admonish the person and say that "don't give me threats."

I will take guidance from and use khatti's reasoning that you loved to pieces:

the probability of the chance formation of the tiniest form of living organism is 1 out of 10^340,000,000.
One out of ten to the 340 millionth power is so ridiculous it is beyond imposssible. This large figure is a "1" followed by 340,000,000 zeroes.
Any of the mathemticians out there who have read up borels law on probability will have taken note that anything which has odds of 10^50 means it cannot happen.
we talking about chances of tiny organism not the universe where the numbers are even more outrageous.
the numbers quoted are at the low end we have some professors who put the chances of evolution happening at 10^ 2 billion.
the atheists believe people are foolish for accepting existence of a creator yet they believe in impossible odds of creation and evolution happening by chance, the numbers alone blow them out of any serious argument.
