Re: God is Not Great
You got it partially wrong, actually. Committing sin does not make one atheist. Believing that there is no God does. when a person who believes in God commit sin, at that moment, he forgets that God is watching and in that moment of time his faith is suppressed by the burden of sin. Declaring that there is no God is a sin in itself in many religions. So, when an atheist declares there is no God at all, according to religions, he is in a state of a continuous sin. A person who is in such state of mind is declared atheist but a sinner who repents and comes back to faith is still a religious person.
Point being that most atheist I have come across or read about are the ones who deny the existence of God because they felt that life is not just, their is no peace here, why their loved ones died, why are there earthquakes, tsunamis, flood etc. So, they come to the conclusion that if there was a God, there would not have been such a chaos in this world.
