It is plausible because of the course she was on at that Austrian university and her current academic work in Pakistan, but how are you able to be so sure?

Clue 1 - She is an “academic” at ISS, Islamabad

Clue 2 - This report says her initials are MK

Clue 3 - ISS’s website says it has a scholar named Maria Kiani

Clue 4 - Google images brings up the winsome image of Ms. Kiani.

Add all this up and you get…

I don’t know what you guys trying to start, I never said that Pashtuns are perferct muslims, our culture contains lots of good and bad things in addition to islamic values. What I said was that the terms Pashtun and muslim are interchangable in our daily conversation. Is that clear?

I have this feeling it was all planned and the lady wasn't involved in any such activity. I do not think there are 'female spies' in our intelligence agencies. Besides that the ISS director in an interview refuted all such claims and demanded an apology from the news agency and the paper that made this fallacious claim.
