God bless ISI :-)

Anyone remember the scandal a few years ago where the Pakistani embassy in London was found to have been bugged by Britain?

Looks like ISI had been quietly returning the favour… gotta love our guys!!!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4158958.stm

**Britain has removed its military attache from his post in Pakistan after he lost the confidence of the British High Commission, officials said. **

The Ministry of Defence said Brig Andrew Durcan had been removed after “an internal investigation”.

Britain’s Sun newspaper had alleged Mr Durcan had formed an “inappropriate relationship” with a suspected female Pakistani spy.

The countries have worked closely in anti-terror operations in recent years.

**‘Defence academic’ **

The Ministry of Defence refused to confirm the claims in the Sun, only saying: “The ministry decided to replace him after he lost the confidence of the High Commission.”

The Sun said Mr Durcan, 56, had been “tricked into a close friendship by the attractive woman”.

It said there was no evidence classified information or British agents had been compromised. The paper described the woman as a “defence academic” who was “also believed to be an undercover agent for rogue elements within Pakistan’s intelligence services”.

Re: God bless ISI :-)

Usual 'games' that happens in every country.

Certainly not worth a posting, esp since the Brits caught this ISI 'honey trap'

Re: God bless ISI :-)

Eye for an eye

Re: God bless ISI

Well, Pakistan’s discovery of bugs in our London embassy was worth a post. So is this.

Re: God bless ISI :-)

This is something to be ashamed of not proud of. ISI was providing a muslim paki woman for his pleasure to spy on them. It is the most lowest thing for country who claim to be muslim and created in the name of Islam. And you people are so proud of this. This tells us how different we are and how evil and hypocrate our government is. For me as a Pashtun, I am very ashamed and insulted.

Re: God bless ISI

It wasn’t the embassy that found out, they were clueless.

It was a ‘contractor’ involved in renovating the embassy who had a change of heart(for whatever reason) and went to the Sunday Times.

Only when it was in the newspapers did the embassy know.

Re: God bless ISI

Bro Punjabi/Mohajir and Nang/Namoos in the same sentence is an oxymoron, these concepts are outdated to this modern educated lot.

My Punjabi/Mohajir friends take pride in the fact that they are open minded and don’t have a problem with their sisters dating. Just yesterday a Mirpuri friend of mine was asking me if I wanted a chick, he said his cousin was interested in me. I mean come on..?

Not all are like this but a fair bit of them are and they mock anyone who doesn’t subscribe to their lifestyle as uneducated and backward, and they pridefully boast of their forwardthinking ways to Indians and Westerners.

Re: God bless ISI :-)

^^ Agreed but there are exceptions very rare though in each of these two groups...very rare....Though they are not blinded by ethnic fervor or affiliation..ethnicity is quite irrelevant to those among the aforementioned group....

Re: God bless ISI

Firstly, you’re assuming she was Muslim.

Secondly, you’re assuming she was pleasuring him. That was not written in the article.

Re: God bless ISI

Doesn’t matter if she was muslim or not, she was a pakistan female. Here is the quote from the article:

"Britain’s Sun newspaper had alleged Mr Durcan had formed an “inappropriate relationship” with a suspected female Pakistani spy. "

I think it is still called pimping.

Re: God bless ISI :-)

It is just a "hot" news in a daily newspaper to favor Brig, nothing else to do with ISI or some woman.

Re: God bless ISI :-)

Fair trade off, She penetrated some British intelligence and he penetrated some Pakistani.

Re: God bless ISI

Would it stilll be pimping if ISI had managed to set him him with an “inappropriate relationship” with a Pakistani male instead?

Re: God bless ISI :-)

Firstly, gr88 job done by ISI, i still remember when big bush, was upset by ISI human intelligence and asked CIA to "Crush ISI" and as a result, benazir expelled nearly 3000 officers from ISI back in 87/88. (You can read more in "Silent Soldier" a book on great General Abul Akhtar Rehman)

Still ISI is one of the most powerful intelligence services in the world, and we should be proud on that.

(Had a privilege of meeting some high ranking officers of ISI, and really impressed by their professionalism and dedication to country)

Malakand: Everything is fair in Love and War, look at from her point of view, she was doing her job, the job she is Trained for.

Re: God bless ISI

:rotfl: nice one!

partyguyz- one of the most powerful intelligence agencies in the world?! LOL!
Apart from their own trouble makers in Afghanistan and of course
Pakistan, they have a very limited reach.

Just happens to be that Afghanistan has been in the news these days, and of course 80’s.

But of course with your personal relationship with these ISI/Army men, it is no wonder you have a ‘rosy’ view.

As for their ‘dedication’ to their country, you should check out their ‘dedication’ to their bank accounts and personal power

Re: God bless ISI :-)

Making money out of serving and protecting the country and countrymen at large is justified.

Re: God bless ISI

How can they amass personal power, when they are only allowed to serve in ISI for 3 years at a time?

ISI has these kinds of checks and balances to prevent those serving in it from abusing their positions for personal gains.

Anyway, please provide an example of ISI corruption.

Re: God bless ISI

Mad:
[font=Times New Roman]It’s not true though, one of my close relative was in MI, and then he was in ISI for more than 3 years, after his retirement, he was rehired by ISI, and he is still part of it. (Personally, I know more than 3 officers who have been with ISI for more than 10 years)

Re: God bless ISI

Firstly, if you don’t know much about ISI, then don’t make fun outta your limited knowledge. Still Afghanistan is ruled by ISI (don’t want to go deeper, because probably not a appropriate place to talk about)

If you read about any intelligence services in the world, their job is to come up with strategies, implement them, if things go wrong get out of there, check CIA’s history, you can go back to Korean war, and start counting…

As per ISI, try to do some research first, read abt them and then Talk.

[font=‘Times New Roman’]As per power and back accounts, any intelligence service in any part f the world has unlimited flow of money and Power, why they have it, A million $ q’s for
