Shikra bhai,

i think it is rather harsh to say this to someone except when said in a light humored way.
we never know how delicate of a time someone is going through.
but i also understand that some people get on one’s nerves.
& then something which turns them away from oneself will get said.

You are right. This is not something that should be said as freely/often as some people say it. In fact, I have seen girls say this more than guys saying it. Although they say it jokingly for most of the times, but it does not change the meaning.

in teen agers, it is normal that they don't know that they are using lots of meaningless fillers there days in their sentences. it also looks like as if one has nothing better and more substantive to say.

but when adults look and behave like high school silly especially when they over use something, that is really a bad thing socially.
