Ehle, I am not a scholar by ANY means, but since you asked for education, according to what I understand of Islam, a man is allowed to do so without any reasons (such as first wife doesn’t fulfill me) and without any preconditions other than being able to support them equally in all terms.
But as for the precondition of support, all I am saying is, people can choose to forgo that.
