~ Glowing Brides ~

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

since i wasn't able to find any saeed ghani ubtan, i looked at the ingredients gina suggested and went to the local indian store and picked out a "skin tone-up powder" that had similar ingredients. It is made in India but specifically "for export" so i'm hoping its somewhat good quality. here are the ingredients:

aloe, haridra (haldi in hindi), chandan, amla, masurdal powder, wala (no idea what that is), jasat bhasma (zinc oxide in hindi), shalmalikantak (???), rose, neem, and multani matti.

i'm gonna just mix it with water or milk and report the results here. anyone have any advice on what ingredient i may be able to add to make it more like pakistani ubtan?? the results i would like out of this ubtan: smaller pores, fewer acne scars, and glowing skin!

If u're going to wax/thread make sure u do it atleast 5 months prior to u're wedding..many girls breakout after it. Bleaching is safe..

Many creams that suit one person may not suit everyone.. u can try Olay products..

Red sandalwood and wild turmeric can be found at any 'pansari's' store.. or herbal store..if not use u're regular turmeric.

Saeed Ghani's norangi ubtan is safe to use on u're face..

AOA gina n all, happy ramazan

i just wantd to know that why it is recommended to 'rub off' the ubtan after it dries? u've recommended that too. isn't it a bit harsh on the skin?

i've asked u some stuff abt. ubtan in another thread, so i just wanna ask that is it ok if i wash it rather than rubbing it off when it dries?

The 'rubbing' acts as an exfoliant and scrub..removes dead skin cells.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

merci beaucoup madame :)

hey i’ve been reading about alum (phitkari) here a lot … that if used (wet) after waxing/threading on face, it reduces hair …

and also, i dont really know where to get this from, but is this the same thing:

Buy Crystal Body Deodorant Stick Online at drugstore.com

It very well could be, alum is also known to keep BO at bay.. usually 'crystal' deo's are natural and don't leave any residue on u're clothes..

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

^thanks! :)

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

farrah are u gonna try that deodorant ?

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

farrah feels caught red-handed by lifeless :bummer:

^ m not really up for au-natural where my armpit hygiene is concerned … lol … but the website says it’s nothing but pure alum … and thats what’s been written here to use for reducing face hair … wet alum … so why not … unless you know some insider story :fatee:

Hey all,
I am ishallah getting married in nov ... just wanted to ask if you guys can suggest anything to make skin better during ramzan? As we cannot drink water all day.. and it is very difficult to have too much at sehr or aftar.
Also i would like to share a remedie i used.. take a little "kali zeeri" with water every morning before eating anything. It reduses blemishes and is good for the matabolism as well.
Gina your help is required. I need to get a fresher skin before my wedding

^ You can't drink water all day but begin from Iftaar.. you can have upto 10 glasses of water till Fajr.

whats kali zeeri?

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

gina what can you recommend for hair fall plz?

AOA everyone,

gina how can i use saffron? i mean.. its the small fibrous stuff.... it doesn't get 'dissolve' in water/milk? what shd i do?

same quetsion is for sandal, its the sticks like stuff, how am i supposed to use it ??

Saffron won't disolve completely.. but let it soak for half an hour and use it..the sandalwood should be made into a powder.

Iyla.. if u boil and steep methi seeds in coconut oil..and bottle it up for 2 weeks..and use the oil.. it'll help!

Hi Gina,

I am getting married in November and as its drawing close I am getting worried about my skin. I have developed flaky patches on my skin on the cheeks as if it was going dry but my T zone is quite oily. I went for a facial recently and it did not help.
I really need help for my skin looking clear on my wedding. I also have acne marks which are looking reddish nowadays.
Now I live in NZ and dont have access to things like wild turmeric and ubtan etc to apply to my face. I can just get basic stuff here.
Please suggest something (which hopefully will be available here) and how often I should be applying it.
And now that I am writing to you, I'l also ask this. My tummy and back is quite dark even though I am wheatish complexion! Anything that can help that?

Thanks a lot in advance. I have been going through this forum and a lot of your suggestions seem very apt and maybe girls have posted good results too. I hope it works on me too!!!

Take care
Shireen

Are the white patches dry area’s? If you can get a couple of sessions of microdermabraision done..

The Body Shop has a great product i’d like for u to try..It’s called Vitamin C Micro-Refiner..it’s a very fine exfoliant..see if that gets rid of the dry/flaky area’s.

The Body Shop - Vitamin C Micro Refiner

Ok Thanks. I am a big fan of body shop anyway so this shouldn’t be difficult to me to find
