Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

why are you using the hair removing lotion....!! wax wax wax....
keep your skin moisturized...use glycolic acid cleanser and lotion to exfoliate the dead skin....

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

^ it hurts aloTT!! :( .. n am tooo shy to get it done from someone... :$

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

Ayesha, I'd suggest u see a doctor first..and apply equal quantities of olive oil and almond oil and wear cotton gloves before u sleep...and try vaseline too.

Neera, the powdered form of oatmeal (jao ka atta)

smughul, drink lemon n honey (warm) first thing in the morning, go-high on proteins and cut-back on carbs n sugar! Waxing is the best option, those lotions are bound to darken u're underarms and the damage can't be repaired =(

Hi,
Could someone tell me how to remove scars from upper back?

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

chanda kh- can you recommend a good glycolic acid product for face and body- you sound like you know what you're talking about.

I'm trying to get on glycolic acid to remove skin imperfections (some marks from previous acne - nothing severe) before my upcoming wedding iA. So far, i just ordered Avene diacneal- it has glycolic acid in it but also retinol

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

what kind of scars?

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

Chanda the scars are the mark left behind from the pimples. I have them on my upper back and also my upper arms.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

i've never got my thighs waxed or never used hair removing creams. what to do as getting married?
what do girls normally do in my situation.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

get a medium to high concentration of a salicylic wash...mix it with glycolic serum...
use a high concentration of glycolic acid lotion to exfoliate....
mix Amlactin lotion with retinol serum and use it on the scars..

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

you need to wax them…dont use any creams…waxing is not that hard…we think it is…but once you start doing it…you ll get used to it…

Gigi has a nice at home kit…cream wax is the best…get the cloth epilating strips not the muslin..since muslin tends to tug on coarse hair..

this is the one i have

it comes with a booklet explaining the directions of hair growth for various parts of your body…

–for applicators/spatulas—use the broader ones..its easier to apply the wax…
–make sure the wax is runny..and not thick..otherwise it will sit thickly on the hair…
–start with waxing smaller patches…2 inches max…this way it will not hurt.

you ll need a big mirror to see what you are doing..use an old sheet to sit on in front of the mirror…it would be easier if you had a couple of big cushions under the sheet…

–everytime your hands get sticky use baby oil to remove the cream wax…as it is the only way to remove the cream wax from your body and any other surface…

dust the area that you are waxing with baby powder…as often as you need…make sure your skin is not sweaty or wet..or oily..otherwise the hair wont pull.

hope that helps

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

Wax recipe

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
¼ cup water
¼ cup lemon (nimbu) juice

Method

Pour the sugar, water and lemon juice in a saucepan, and heat it over a low flame. Keep stirring the mixture until all the sugar has melted, and you have a thick brown liquid. Let it cool slightly.

Waxing technique

1.Test the temperature before applying the wax to your skin. It should be hot, but not scalding, or you can burn yourself.
2.Once the wax has cooled slightly, test it on your finger. Blow on it to cool it with your breath and apply it to your skin with a butter knife, in the direction of hair growth.
3.Place a clean cotton cloth strip on the wax and yank it against the direction of hair growth.
4.Wipe the area clean with a cold cloth after you’ve finished waxing.
5.You could also apply ice to the waxed area, to close and tighten pores.
6.You may notice that your skin has turned red, or that you have tiny bumps on the skin immediately after waxing. This is a normal reaction, and the redness and bumps should disappear within an hour. Applying a moisturizer or soothing lotion will help.

If you can still see sugar particles in the wax, the hair will probably not come out and you would need to re-cook the wax.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

does anyone breakout on their thighs like a week after waxing (when new hair is emerging)...if so--how do u prevent this......i think im an alien!!!!!!!! (this usally happens when someone else waxes me......)

for those shy girls--u can make the wax urself and do it at home

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

ohh chanda and sgc!! my gosh! think u guys r ENCYCLOPEDIAS......so much knowledge abt EVERYTHING.......:):):)

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

use a 20% glycolic wash/lotion....gently scrubbing and exfoliating the skin helps release the trapped new growth...if you wont exfoliate...the trapped hair will become an ingrown hair...
