Re: Giving birth on visitor’s visa
We’re all entitled to our own opinions and that’s ok.
As for the part about whether or not the law is “unfair”…the bottom line is that coming to this country is a privilege. No one has a “right” receive a green card or any other legal status. If someone doesn’t like the process…they are more than welcome NOT to apply to live here.
And yes, you’re right…the process is long. But guess what…if people didn’t do sh*t like coming into this country on a visitor’s visa and then giving birth & using the tax payers money to support themselves and their child…perhaps the immigration process wouldn’t be so long (this same thing can be said about immigrants…including desis…who do “paper marriages”). Immigrants have no one to blame but other immigrants for the system being so difficult and long.
** For the record…all this is coming from an immigrant. My parents came to the U.S. when I was in 5th grade. We all went through the legal process. We’ve been blessed that there has never been an emergency that required us to seek care. And even in “normal” situations…we never CHOSE to get “free” services.
