I dont LOSE respect for them. from what i see i dnt have any in th first place for them.....their hijabs are piled onto their heads like turbans and they have 3 pots of clown makeup on, wearing skinny jeans, cigarrete in onehand and boyfrned on the other...
NOW i wouldnt have noticed these girls AT ALL had they NOT BEEN wearing the headgear....but these girls, some of their parents bless them are soo niave, i know one girls mum, shes lovely, and genuinly believes her daughters better than the rest as she wears headscarf.....hmmmmm

I know of two girls who chose to take the hijab off. I don't care but one of them was this preacher of how wrong it is to not cover and had a whole holier than thou attitude towards her hijab wearing skills. When she took it off, it peeved me off. Hijaabi or non hijabi... don't push it on others like it is the only way. I respect the girls who take the hijab as much as the girls who don't. Its for ALLAH and they will get their reward for it so it is not my place to judge. However, if they judge me for me not wearing one (and I have been at a MSA meeting), I am bringing out the claws. :)
I dont judge girls who take their hijaab off as maybe theyre not ready to be true to their headscarf and its purpose. What does pee me off is when i was in town the other day and two somalian girls were infront of me with backsides bigger then kim kardashian, jeans were low, top riding up, lower back exposed and top was tight.! And that too with a headscarf on.! I also find it odd wen u see girls with hijaab on and wear leggings and short tops or shorts with tights etc it just draws attention to them.. I always see this one particualr arab girl in my area she fashions her hijaab really nice the whole new high on ur head, and designs n funky head bands, and she dresses modestly and still looks fashionable.!
At the end of the day we all deep down make judgements based pn what we see but i personally think u can wear anything u like as long as its modest and suits u. But hijaabis with revealing tight clothes for me just defies the meaning of the headscarf
This is all very interesting. As one person has said (Can't remember who it is) in the perfect world nobody will judge. But some girls autommatically get respect for the hijab, and when they take it off they do get judged. It is not fair on them because they have own reason to take it off, one of my close friends wear it and then she took it off, and now she has had gaaliyan made at her and also some of her cousins they said to her that they think she is becoming too liberal.
But yes I also agree with some hijab wearing girls who do not honor their hijab image by behaving a bit silly.
I think that's an unfair generalization. No, its not a trend for everyone or to be honest I don't know anyone who takes it as a trend. I have had a conversation with my arab friends too and they don't take it as a trend or a culture thing either.
Among Asians no one wore hijab (headscarf) 15 or 20 years ago....there were chadors and dupattas but 3 cornered headscarf or shella is totally Arab. I'm just talking about the history/background of headscarf/khimar which is wrongly called hijab. Hijab doesn't mean headscarf.
