Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

Would you loose respect for girls who don’t wear hijab anymore? I know some girls who took it off because they wanted to show off their hairs and because they feel insecure.

Would you say anything to a girl who took it off?

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

Not at all..who am i to judge anyone regardless she takes it off or not. I mean why would ya wanna judge someone like that anyway. Would i say anything to girl like that..well if she is hot i would tell her she looks hot!.

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

I used to wear the hijab, was the only girl in my city to do so. I had no idea why I was wearing it, my dad told me to so I did. Random aunties loved me, their kids hated me, thought I was wearing it to be all 'high and mighty'. I was 13, I wore it for 5 years, in my very very white city, I used to hear taunts by randoms in the street/library/shopping and even by muslims in my school. I hated wearing it and will always have negative connotations attached to it.

It wasn't my choice to wear it and I didn't understand why me and not my sisters or cousins or anyother girl for that matter.

The only person who used to say things was my daddi, no one else ever said anything to me.

I don't know if I will ever wear it again. :/

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

have seen a few girls take it off recently. may be becoming a trend.

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

No, I would not lose respect for someone who chose to stop wearing hijab...how is it any of my business?? I know plenty of people in our community here who stopped wearing hijab right after the 9/11 attacks. Whatever their reasons are, it's between them and Allah, how does it affect me and my life???

Just like I would not want to be judged for not doing hijab (I don't), I'm not going to judge anyone reversing their decision to do so.

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

I wouldn't say anything to anyone who's taken it off, most of the time they've taken it off for something which you shouldn't judge them about, they have their own reasons and lot of the time it's a good reason.
Also, there are plenty of girls who practise hijab on their head, but not in their heart. At least the ones taking it off may be taking it off because they don't want to feel like hypocrites.

re: Girls who don’t wear hijab anymore

It depends on what type of laptop they have. :chai:

re: Girls who don’t wear hijab anymore

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

Wearing headscarf was a good experience. But people change. There was no insecurity though. I just wanted to be myself again. I just wanted to feel the rain and the sunshine in my hair again.

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

In an ideal world people should not care, in real world some of them (in fact many) do.

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

I lose respect for girls who wear the hijab so they can wear clingy clothes and tight bottoms to show they are uber stylish..

A conversation I had this week about hijab as I really want to wear it but do not have the confidence due to the area of work and living in a white majority reflected on reasonings behind wearing hijab. a friend who's sisters all wear hijab (mashALLAH for the right reasons) explained that she has seen with her own eyes

1) Girls who wear hijab for modesty and parda and as it is far zand makes them closer to their creator. This is reflected in their clothes, stylish still but not tight and their personas

2) Many girls in areas where there is a large asian/Muslim community use the hijab/head scarf as a method of being able to get away with wearing fashionable (?) clothes/ tights/leggings, nail polish etc because the hijab seems to neutralise the tight clothes in their elders eyes..

I appreciate there are many other situations and reasons and not everyone is the same not all are like that but I have seen this myself and I wish i didn't but I do not respect them for how they dress. Hijab is for modesty, if you wear hijab for modesty your clothes should reflect that and if you can try and be modest at least without the hijab I believe it is a step in the right direction rather than girls in category 2

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

i personaly dont wear one, but knw quite a few ladies who wear it but at weddings (mixed) and parties they take it off and wear it again after... Im not sure if its worn for fashion or religious perposes.

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

No, I know someone who wears it sometimes but has her phases where she takes it off. I take it as trying to figure yourself out. Whatever works......no one should judge but people do and will continue to do so.....whether you wear hijab, don't wear hijab, or are in-between.

re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

OP, do you wear a headscarf?

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

When I was younger I did - not gonna lie. I have seen many people do the whole on and off thing. Now I realize if they don't wear hijab for the right reasons (from their heart) than its good for them to take it off and wear it when they really want to.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

I usually lose respect for guys who don't have a beard like mine! Touba Touba ... such bad boys they are. Clean shaven and all that! Uff.

Re: Girls who don’t wear hijab anymore

not really.:hmmm: i never understood the idea of hijab basically.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

i know a few girls that stopped wearing the hijab. Each had their own reason.

What's there to say? They were my friends before they started wearing the hijab, my friend while wearing the hijab and they will continue to be my friend even afte they stopped wearing hijab.

Who am I to judge?
