Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

The stopping of hijab is different to reinterpreting the fulfilment of hijab. In both cases we treat them the same.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

I shouldn't have disrespect for anyone in my heart, but naturally you would always (relatively) love/respect those people more who are trying their best (at least apparently) to obey the orders of Allah (swt) and the ways of his prophet (saw).

Inside of a person is only known to Allah (swt). You can't judge the intentions of anyone. But a couple of hadiths would guide you:

  1. A momin (man/woman) is recognized from a distance (from his/her appearance that s/he is a lover of the ways of the Prophet (Saw) and Hazrat Khadija r.a)

  2. Momin is the one, looking at whom reminds you of Allah swt (due to their appearance being in accordance to that of the prophet and his wives, not that of some actor/actress/singer...etc.)

When you love Hazrat Fatima (r.a) you would try to copy her, try to look/dress like her and follow her manners in every field of life. On the contrary when you love those.....lets not even say whatever is the other way round, doesn't feel good at all.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

Hijab, no hijab, whats the difference? I don't see one.
I seriously don
t get Muslims and their obsession with women`s hair. Not too long ago I was in Anar kali in Lahore with my mother and two female cousins during ramadan. One of my cousins had a chaadar wrapped around her with her head exposed. We were walking about and some random baba started yelling at her, "sir pay duppata lo" "sir pay duppata lo" and something about it being ramadan and that her head shouldn't be exposed. My cousin didn't take it very seriously and said that the baba was out of his mind and we went on. In the same trip my mother was bargaining with a street vendor for jewelry and I guess he didn't like the price my mother proposed and he got upset and said something like "who do you women think you are, walking around with your heads exposed". What is so bothersome about a woman's hair?

Re: Girls who don’t wear hijab anymore

Har har @ the laptop post. :disgust:

As for judging someone, I would never do that. My own parents didn’t ask me to wear one, and hijab cannot be forced on anyone anyway. Most people I know who were forced to wear it took it off as soon as they were away from their parents and his the hijab in their lockers or would change and rechange before going home. Heh, what are they learning from this exactly? Nothing. Forcing anything in general is just plain wrong.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

I don't respect women by what's on their heads but rather what's inside it.

It has no impact on me, so I wouldn't have much to say. If anything, I will say good for her for doing something she believes in, because I know it takes self-assurance to do what she did.

[/QUOTE]

Conceptually, this would totally make sense and look quite logical to a 'Muslim', only after s/he keep aside (ignore) the words and lifestyle of our Prophet (saw) and his family* in this regard.*

But I do agree that we don't have any right to disrespect anyone who chose not to wear it or has stopped wearing it. Because we have not been assigned this duty (of a policeman) by Allah (swt)to impose the orders of Allah (swt) and His prophet's ways on anyone by force/hatred/prejudice/Egoistic disgraceful attitude. By boosting our self righteousness through degrading them.

That person still deserves the love, humble attitude and respect s/he was getting from you before. If I am sincere with him/her then I should cry at night in front of Allah (swt) for his/her guidance without informing him/her about my prayers (that is difficult to do) instead of following the easy/tempting path of boosting my EGO by passing judgmental negative remarks about his/her intentions/decisions in life.

Haye, aap eik kitaab kyun nahi likh lain tain, R.A.W ji? Starting with compiling all your posts.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

I guess that makes me a non-Muslim?

I don't think Allah sees anything wrong with a woman who doesn't cover her head. Certainly no need to cry over it either. Just my thoughts.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

The only thing I find weird is when former hijabis purposely draw attention to their hair and hairstyle. But that's just me. They can do what they want.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

That's why they are former then ... I guess ... in order for them to fulfill their own endeavours ... some people don't understand the idea of going against what makes them happy ... especially when lots of others are having fun, they often want to join in. This is why having the right company and exposure to given society dictates to some people what they will "desire" to be like.

Us men are worse than the women ... so many Muslim men don't have beards because they want to be inconspicuous about who they are ... so they can continue having fun.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

"That was a close one. Exodus is gone. Phew girl, you just dodged a bullet."

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

reasons are mere justifications, aren't they :D - and justifications mean that you know that not doing it is wrong, so you have to justify the act.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

once you go black, you don't go back? idk..

Re: Girls who don’t wear hijab anymore

Egjactly, the ones with Macs better not or they would drive the resale value down.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

I think headscarf is a trend and South Asian muslims in West adopted it after seeing Syrian and Palestinian women wearing it over western clothing. Another reason I stopped wearing the headscarf was that I didn't like being called HIJABI.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

^Ditto, the concept of hijab is a dupatta and just placing it on top of your head amongst desis. Hijab is definitely a "new" trend. The only time even a dupatta is wrapped tightly back in the day was during namaz and such.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

WHo am I to judge? At least they had the courage...and for whatever reason decided to not do it. I haven't even tried.

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

^For some reason I always thought you were a niqabi. And then I realized your avatar is of a female ninja. :p

Re: Girls who don't wear hijab anymore

Thats funny because before the supposed changed of heart,** Most **hijabbi girls ( I am talking about Pakistani girls) tend to openly criticize other girls who don't wear hijab. They have better than thou attitute and are not willing to accept the reality that the extreme religiousity is just a phase for them. Just like some guys in their college years join tableegi jamats and state wearing trouser above their ankles.
I won't judge them but I would have a laugh and say told you so...
