This is a good case of why we should, upon hearing something that is unlogical, question it rather than accept it blindingly because it tries to abuse Islam to perpetuate itself as truth.

Treat unlikely things with a great deal of scepticism, because they are probably not true and if if you tell other people about them you’ll just be deceiving others.

Try and validate such unlikely things before telling others. If they are actually true, then marvel at the power of Allah SWT and say subhanallah.

But PLEASE PLEASE do not pass on rumours simply because they try and take advantage of Islam!

Where did you hear about this incident? Did your source directly witness this, or is your source passing on what he/she heard from elsewhere?

If your source heard from somewhere else, how far can you trace the chain of narration to a person or entity that you personally believe is completely reliable?

mad scientist…i just heard it from my husband …n he heard it from some clients…can’t say how true is that …but we can’t say its impossible either …can we???

Some of my favourite Muslim e-rumours:

1. April Fool’s day in fact celebrates the corruption and expulsion of Muslims in Spain by the Christians. The message propagating this rumour completely ignores the actual facts and timelines involved.

2. The skeletons of giants were found in Saudi Arabia, thus proving the existance of huge people from Islamic scriptures. The photo “proving” this turned out to be a digitally manipualted version of a mastadon excavation run and photographed by Cornell University.

3. The trees that seems to spell out with their trunks “La illaha illallah wa Muhammad ar-rasool ullah”, in Germany. I actually was originally convinced by this too, for some reason I put my usual scepticism aside. Eventually, I cam across the following link:

   Where it was claimed that someone had merely photographed an oil painting my a Muslim artist and started presenting it as being a photograph of a miracle.

The one thing left is that the alleged tree in Australia that was shaped like a praying man towards Mecca seems to be true …

When you believe in all-powerful God who defined and laid down the laws of physics by which the universe runs, but who can overrule those laws as an when he wishes, then nothing is impossible.

The world is only divided into the scientifically likely possibilities and the scientifically unlikely possibilities.

The scientifically likely possibilities occur well over 99.999% of the time.

However, there is always a chance, no matter how tiny, that an unlikely outcome could happen. For example, Bangladesh beating Australia in a cricket match.

In this specific scenario, there have been no documented cases in the past 2000 years of a human being spontaneously turning into an animal. This does not mean that it will never happen; it’s just that given the track record of God not doing this for so long, then if a case is suddenly reported one must be sceptical of the trend breaking.

The parable is like unto the company that posts steadily growing profits for 20 consecutive years and shows no sign of failing soon, and then someone down the roads shouts out that they’ve just posted an $80,000,000 loss this quarter.

It’s extremely unlikely, it would buck the trend, but there is the tiniest chance that it’s true. If you owned stock in it you’d probably do a little research into whether or not the guy down the road was correct before you personally start telling others that it’s posted a giant loss.

i looked for corroboration in omani newspapers and nothing.
