Monkey's are free animals living out in the wild seeing the beauty of mother nature. They don't have to worry about working, taxes, bills, relationships etc. They have an easy life! In fact National Geo stated that from the entire animal kingdom Monkeys are among those that have sex the highest number of times. Lucky fu*kers. In fact, I want to be a monkey now.

Okay, let's all step back, put any prejudices and preconceptions aside, and analyze this from a position of complete objectivity independent of how likely or unlikely we think this incident is.
The incident is either an under-reported piece of news, or it is a rumour.

Where did you hear about this incident? Did your source directly witness this, or is your source passing on what he/she heard from elsewhere?
If your source heard from somewhere else, how far can you trace the chain of narration to a person or entity that you personally believe is completely reliable?

I've heard so many such stories from people in Pak.
I heard this particular story a few years ago, God knows.
God has cursed some people in the olden days and turned them into monkeys and swine, it says so in the Qur'aan, I don't know if it was literal or metaphorical.

^ actually last week I heard about this news also from a relateive who lives in UAE....they said they saw the news on tv about the girl turning into a monkey cuz she disrespected the quran.. I didnt bother to get more details about the news :) I searched online and i cannot find sh*t

MUSCAT — ‘E-rumours’ doing the rounds in the capital say that a girl has been transformed into a “half human, half beast being” for showing disrespect to the Holy Quran.
However, people, at large, dismissed the rumour spread over mobile phones, accompanied with a photo, as “rubbish”.
The rumour has it that a girl from one of the wilayats in the Sultanate has been “punished” by God for showing disrespect to the Holy Book when her mother prevented her from watching a satellite TV channel. The “e-rumour” also said that the ‘werewolf’ has been admitted to a hospital in the interior region.
Following are the reactions of a section of society:
l Salih Al Shaili and Talib Al Rumhi denounced spreading such rumours which do have negative impact on the people.
l Said Al Lamki and Abdulla Al Shiryani warned against believing completely in what we see on the Internet and GSMs. “This is a disturbance for our minds,” Al Shiryani said.
l Mohammed Al Shamsi, Mohammed Al Amri, Ali Al Qatraifi and Khalifa Al Omairi said they had received or heard the rumour but would not believe it as it is against logic.
l Rashid Al Salmani said: “This is the first e-rumour in the Sultanate and it could have negative psychological impact on some members of the community. Have faith and do not listen to lies.”

what I can make out is that some Omani made an e-rumour where he took photos of leather/silicone models of half-human half-monkeys made by an Australian artist, and claimed that someone had been turned into an animal for disrespecing the Quran.
Because the models looked pretty real, and they were photos, many Muslims who are desperate for miracles chose to fall for the deceipt despite it running against all logic and reasoning.
Remember kids - believe in Islam for the beauty of the Deen, don’t let it take a miracle to convince you!!!

This is a good case of why we should, upon hearing something that is unlogical, question it rather than accept it blindingly because it tries to abuse Islam to perpetuate itself as truth.
Treat unlikely things with a great deal of scepticism, because they are probably not true and if if you tell other people about them you'll just be deceiving others.
Try and validate such unlikely things before telling others. If they are actually true, then marvel at the power of Allah SWT and say subhanallah.
But PLEASE PLEASE do not pass on rumours simply because they try and take advantage of Islam!
