Some ppl genuinely think a girl driving, working, being independent is a negative thing cos they think she’ll become ‘proud’/over confident, not listen to her husband or family (or not have to put up with cr*p).. Some ppl think dependency is better..

Much more of a minority view now tho.. There was an interesting show here called Muslim Driving School (it can be viewed on Youtube).. It showed some good examples of the changing attitudes and lifestyles of UK Pakistani women..

Sounds interesting. I’ll look into the show
